Hi! I'm not sure if anyone remembers Snits and I, but she was insulin for not long and then went in remission and has been in it for about a year and and four months. She tested good early in the month, but now is doing pretty poorly. I admittedly neglected to test much at all this month so I'm not sure when she started to slip. She gets monthly solensia injections (this month it was the 25th) and the tech noticed she was very swollen this month. This is honestly not that unusual for her since she often has excessive gas, but it was more so than usual. They took her to tap her to get fluids out but got very little and what they did get they couldn't identify. He did tell me the swelling was just excessive gas again, but was sort of alarmed about what the liquid could be and why she always had so much gas. I suggested maybe IBD, but they thought possibly an infection. She is seeing a specialist on the 5th. On Thanksgiving I checked her, she was 157 and has progressively gotten worse from there. Her PMPS was 365 so I administered one unit tonight and will check her throughout.
She is otherwise acting normal, eats ferociously and still drinks a lot - even in remission she drank a lot.
She primarily gets friskies pate, but was getting an occasional serving of elsey's. I've also tried young again, but she got sick with something most likely unrelated (either ivdd or arthritis) and didn't want to risk it.
I guess my question is, how possible is it for cats to go into remission again?
