Halloween is a special place here. It is traditionally the time when the veil between the Bridge and our day-to-day world is at it's thinnest. It is also a time when we remember those of our community who have traveled the path to the Bridge and wait for us there.

When Rosie left me, I promised her I would return to this special place for every full moon and especially on Halloween to remember her. Of course, I miss her every day.

In Ireland, it is Samhain. A night when ancestors are honoured and invited in to share in the harvest festival which turns into the most massive, joyful party. Tonight, as I open the door to the trick-or-treaters, I shall also welcome the most loved and honoured cats and caregivers who have gone before. And don't cats just love an open door?

Thanks Sienne for putting the list together. It is never easy.

Thank you for this memorial, Sienne. I have only been on the list for a couple months, so it is nice to see it for the first time. While sad, I am sure it brings comfort to those who have lost a baby. This has been a very rough year for us. We lost four kitties by mid-July, two just 3 days apart. One was 20.5yo, and my husband's baby. His grief is so intense that he is in counseling to deal with it. Than, Simba was dx'd with diabetes in August, a total shock. While my beliefs are very strong that they continue on in spirit after death, having spoken to many in spirit through an animal communicator, it doesn't lessen that awful feeling of sadness and emptiness for losing the special kind of love each gave us.

My prayers and thoughts to all who mourn the loss of these dear souls in our daily lives. They do indeed wait for us, with fresh healthy spirit bodies.

China was kicking up her heels and partying like a fool last Halloween and was gone on Christmas Eve ….still hard to believe how healthy she seemed but how obviously sick she was.

I miss my girl
I miss her too! The LagoonMeisterin and the LagoonMeister are watching over all of the L&LL kitties. What a pair they were when they were patrolling the Lagoon. LagoonMeisterin China got a lot of the difficult assignments (shark duty), and LagoonMeister Rusty keep his eye on the whole scene. And then there were the terrific beach games that China presided over. What fun!
:cat::cat: Never a dull moment!
