OTJ Trial Question

Davidson goes to court tomorrow night for his trial proceedings.........I know I should give him BG test at AM and PM as usual, and maybe a couple in between...........BUT - do I still take away his food 2 hrs before? I've actually been letting him graze for the past couple of weeks so the BG tests I show are mostly taken with some food..........can you imagine how much lower they would be - haha. He's in good hands since I'm here and generally doesn't eat unless I'm with them. It's like every morning at around 5am..........Harley waking me up, pawing my face, kissing any expose body part - yes, 'any' exposed part.......then Davidson the 16 lb horse walking on my stomach with a full bladder..........so downstairs I go only to see there is food in their bowls and they just want me to be there. How thoughtful!! Now it's a different story when my men friends want to wake me up............anything for our cats!

Hi Shawna:

Congratulations on being ready for an OTJ trial. Here are the instructions Sienne posts:

Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times.
Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).
If your cat is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day.
If he is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If his number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then his pancreas is working!
After 2 weeks, if everything is looking good, we have a party!

Congrats to you!! I'll be cheering you on!! I've been watching your progress since it was suggested I take a look at Davidson's chart when I started testing Max.

Thanks!...........should be easy enough and hopefully just 2 test a day and when he passes this we'll have to celebrate with a BIG party as May 1st Davidson will be 12............
