+10 - 26g Evo 95% C&T, ate 19g

WCR: I'm beginning fear the worst, and perhaps I was a bit too hasty in trying this. I'm not liking the fact that the PMBG #s are rising. I know that she gets only 3 meals in the early part of the evening, and then a snack 2 hours before her test time. I'm going to try to feed her the daytime meals before noon, wait a few or so hours, then feed her at the +10 mark to see if that'll help bring down the PMBG #s. As it is, she's still between the range so far. Right now, she's in her cubby hole, resting. I'm not giving up just yet.

Oh yeah... It's also snowing here in North Texas, too. Beautiful, big fat flakes. I'll post a picture (hopefully) shortly.

Sending tons of positive thoughts, healing vines, and prayers to whoever needs them.

MY WISH: For God to help heal the broken hearts of those who lost a beloved pet and/or human... For God to help those ailing make a full and speedy recovery... For everyone, including Blackie, to have great #s... For everyone, including Blackie, to be permanently OTJ.

Morning Angela :coffee::coffee::coffee:

Beautiful amps for Day 5. Hang in there, could be just one of those days on the higher pmbg.

Sounds beautiful there, I am looking forward to a photo!

Have a great day today. I hope all goes well.

Here are a couple of images that I took this morning of our Texas snow. My camera skills aren't the greatest, so please forgive me for the blurry images, if there are any.

My poor truck. LOL

Nice contrast. The Crape Myrtle tree that's outside our office window.

The higher # that I was referring to was the PMBG from last evening. I know she normally is a bit higher in the evening as opposed to the morning, and daytime. Like I said, I'm hoping that I'm not being too hasty by jumping into this too quickly. (anti-jinx)

Hang in there, you never know until you try, lets see how it goes for the next few days. You can always jump back on insulin if they continue to rise.

She is still well into the normal range. If you want to see an OTJ kitty that will make you pull your hair out, check out Trix's SS. Her "PS" numbers are very rarely in range (unless I'm home to give her a +9 snack), but she always comes down on her own - those PS numbers are why I still test every day, but those follow-up tests are why she's still OTJ. If you want to give yourself a little peace of mind, you can try testing Blackie 3 hours after she eats to see where she's at.

Happy Day 5!

This morning looks fantastic to me! As you said, she tends to be a little higher at night. ECID, especially if they go OTJ after 5 years!

The pix are beautiful, but that cardinal does NOT look happy about it!

Nice start for Blackie today. I wouldn't worry about the 105 yesterday. It's still a normal number and some cats naturally run higher than others.

Happy Day 5! :cat::cat::D:cat::cat:

Thank you to the previous posters before the 4 below for the kind words. I greatly appreciate them. :)

Amy: I may just do that tomorrow... Test Blackie 3 hours after her 2nd to last meal of the day. I almost did, but refrained.

Ann: Thanks. I guess I won't worry too much about it.. For now. LOL :D It's hard to not worry, though. You want everything to go right for your kitty, especially after a very long time. That's what I want for Blackie. She deserves it... Especially for putting up with me all these years. :D

Carla: Thank you. :)

Liz: Thank you. Yeah, I think the cardinal wasn't too happy about having his picture taken. LOL Well, he was there, ya know. Now, the snow's melted pretty much with some spots here and there, and it's still dripping off the roof as we speak.

you've got 5 days of all normal numbers with no insulin. Fret not!

It's warming my little heart to see Blackie doing so well! :D:D:D

crazy on the snow - we've got robins everywhere in our yard scouting for worms. Spring seems to have arrived here. Our daffodils are in bloom and there's a new shrub someone gave me also blooming. I forget what the name is, but it looks very spring-ish here in Oregon.

Don't be worried Angela, Vyktor had four numbers over 120 in his OTJ trial, it's almost three years later and he's still in remission :) Blackie's numbers are looking great :D:D:D:D:D

My little darling gave me a lower beautiful # this evening. :D WTG, Lil Mama!!! Yes, you're all right. I shouldn't be fretting. :D Try telling my other self that, though. LOL :D This is awesome progress with her. Simply awesome!!!!

Day 5! Congratulations Angela and Blackie! I can definitely understand your concern...you guys have worked for so long and so hard for this. But as the other folks have said....these are all normal numbers! We're all sweating this with you! LOL!

Paws crossed for Blackie..but I think he is doing great otj so far..its normal to worry..Im sure your heart is beating a little faster when youre waiting for the meter to beep with the number. Do you talk to the meter like I do?? (Please dont be high..Please be lower..etc):cat:..

Hey Angela, don't worry! and let Blackie work!! She looks great.

Love the pic of the cardinal in the crape myrtle. We have had a pair of cardinals here in the frozen north for years now. They show up very early in the morning and have even mastered the hanging-tube birdfeeders. But I always throw black oil sunflower seeds on the ground to make it more comfortable for them.

Have a good evening. Stay warm!
