Hi all!​

We feel so lucky to be insulin free for the past two weeks!! We are completely shocked and hope this continues for a long, long time! We truly appreciate all of your help, advice, (especially advice on sleepless nights and low numbers!) support and care. This is truly a family.​

We were shocked four years ago when we found out the news. I cried and couldn't talk to the vet over the phone. I thought I was going to have to put her to sleep. We learned about the board a year later, when my wedding photographer told us about it because of her cat. She also told us about the all wet food diet. It helped tremendously, and we brought her down from 6 units twice a day, to 1 unit- which also varied depending on her preshots. We gave her Humulin N and a few times members on the board suggested other insulins, but I was too hesitant to switch. I really struggled with change and did not feel like I could make the switch. Her scary seizure over the summer was the turning point. The neurologist suggested to switch b/c humulin seemed to be a roller coaster ride. Once on Lantus, she became a regulated cat! The support and knowledge from this board was amazing. We had never seen her so playful, alert, and overall happy. And now, we just feel blessed to have her insulin free. Wow! We just did not think it was in the cards for us.​

Thank you CD and Big Mac for making this even more special with the video. My favorite is her and the champagne glass with her mouth wide open! I love it!​

Just wanted to say congratulations once again for your special accomplishment. I felt that everyone would be so inspired to see how long you've been treating Savannah and were still able to go OTJ. I had to check the dates about a zillion times to make sure I was seeing the dx date correctly and then was so excited when I typed the page to announce Savannah's 4 year success.

Enjoy your new freedom from shots and strict schedules. But don't forget to visit LL often! You are family now!

Sorry I'm late to the party, but I still wanted to offer my congratulations. Savannah has been doing so well recently, I was really hoping this was where she was headed.

My favorite pics were the belly rubs, very cute!

Congratulations again! What an inspiration!
 
My pc finally seems to be (sort of) behaving, and was finallly was able to watch the video. So happy you reached this achievement. Always loved Savannah's avatar - that dreamy melt-into-the bed pose :cool:
