Thank you all for coming by our party today. A huge thank you goes out to Camille for our OTJ video. You have perfectly captured the essence of our precious little devil….um…angel. (I’m sorry Jersey decided to plot against you this morning. I tried to reign her in, but, well, you know! ohmygod_smile ) We will treasure our video forever.

I wanted to make sure that all of you who visit our party today know how much we appreciate the support you have given us. For those of you who might not see our daily condo, here's an excerpt:

For those of you who haven’t read our profile, you may not be aware that we lost our Bugsy to diabetes 10 years ago. When Jersey received her diagnosis this past November, I was devastated. I cried the first time I gave Jersey a shot; it evoked every painful memory I had of Bugsy. In that moment, I promised myself that this time, with this kitty, I would not fail.

This dance is not easy. I don’t need to tell any of you that. Many of you understand that better than I do. The highs and lows, the late nights and early mornings, the costs – financially, physically, and mentally….. At times, it threatened to overwhelm me. And every time I felt that way, you were there…..with a kind word, a funny picture, a pair of patience pants….. Each time I questioned my strength to do this for one more day, you were there to encourage me. You became the one constant in this dance. I commiserated with you. I cussed with you. (Sometimes, I even cussed at you!) I rejoiced with you. I grieved with you.

I also listened to you. I followed your advice, and, because of that, I didn’t fail this kitty this time. I have no doubt that, if it weren’t for you, our story would be very different. I never wanted to dance this dance again, but I am so glad that you have been my dance partners.

Why Jersey has been so blessed while so many other kitties continue to struggle, I will never know. My mom’s words of wisdom do echo in my heart, though. She always told me that God only gives special children to special people. I believe our kitties are our children, and her words apply to each and every person here. You are all extremely special individuals with special kitties who are better off because of you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you….for all that you have done, for all that you continue to do, and for all that you are.

There was no doubt in my mind that this day would come and it couldn't have happened to a better person!! Thanks for the encouragement you have given to me the last few months. Please don't forget to occasionally post about Jersey. I love to read your journals. Congrats Jersey and Shelly.

So glad for you, Shelly! I loved the picture of Jersey in the garbage can - and I immediately thought of her plotting your demise by setting up a garbage obstacle course that would be certain to trip you up! :lol: :lol:

Shelly, you and Jersey are just wonderful! I absolutely love reading your updates, and I hope you will come back to visit often. Jersey's story is so inspiring, along with the rather dramatic plotting-your-demise manner in which she decided she was done with the juice! :mrgreen:
