somehow I completely missed the fact that this was the 2nd time going OTJ for Dallas! Wow that is simply incredible. I was under the impression that if an OTJ cat falls out of remission, there is very little chance of a 2nd OTJ, if any chance at all. This is so great to see and a testament to the dedication, hard work and commitment by the caregivers. You should be proud!!

Awww thank you so much!! I think catching it really early helped. We would still check him once a month and one day I noticed he was drinking a lot of water, so I checked him right away. We had checked him 2-3 weeks prior and it was normal, so I know we caught it right away.

Michelle, isn't this his 3rd OTJ? I thought he fell out of remission last year and went OTJ for the second time in Oct 2021? No?

I’m honestly not even sure because the first time around we did everything wrong. He went into “remission” 2 weeks after switching his food. We tested only a couple of times and his numbers were normal, his vet said he was in remission and then we completely stopped testing him for months. I randomly tested him again months after and his number was off the charts. Once I learned more from this group is when I realized we should have done things a bit different to make sure.
