? OTJ for over a week, meter says 44!

Mr. Black has been OTJ for a little over a week and seems to be doing great with no symptoms. I just finished testing him, and my RELION CONFIRM said 44! Pricked and tested again right away, same number. I'm beginning to wonder just how accurate this meter is. In the instructions, there's mention of the possibility of up to 20% either way, which I should probably take seriously. This 44 is way too low and I'm wondering if others on here have lower numbers than you think they should be when using this meter. Previous test a few days ago said 53. Please advise.

If you're not giving insulin, that's a GREAT number!!

One of my civvies routinely tests in the high 30's and I have to stop myself from grabbing the karo syrup!!

When IttyBit went into remission I posted with the same worry. Don't be concerned, 44 is not too low (as long as there is no insulin being given.) Ittybit routinely tests in the 40s. Congratulations on getting OTJ.
