Well, Pluto's been OTJ for over 14 months after being dx with initial BG in the 600s. A bad dental infection (where 5 teeth were extracted and the remaining cleaned) probably pushed him into such high numbers. He was on ProZinc for a month during which time I found this site and started home testing and switched his food. Since Nov we've been keeping an eye on his increased BG levels and once it hit 200 (Relion Micro) we did some blood work at the vet. This is a new vet (different from the vet that diagnosed him and did the dental work before), and he wants to do another cleaning "His teeth look to have a great deal of tartar and his gums seem irritated (gingivitis)." The blood work is updated on his spreadsheet, and the concerning #s per the vet are the low potassium and high Amylase & lipase. The vet said his BG of 221 wouldn't have been too concerning as stress at the vet can increase a cat's BG but since I home test we know it has been elevated. He said it's my decision on whether to start him back on insulin. My initial thought was wait and see if the dental work brings the BG down but we can't get the cleaning done until June 12th so I wanted to see if others had any input after reviewing his numbers?
