Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been around a lot lately. Sorry about that. We have been doing a major remodeling project - all wood floors throughout the house, and painting the entire interior, as well as redoing the fireplace and adding built-ins to the guest bedroom. The house has been a complete disaster area for a couple of months now. The internet was down for several days earlier this week as they worked on Mark's office. They tell me the end is in sight, but I'm not holding my breath. Contractor time is different from that which regular folks use.

We had planned (ha ha!) to have all this completed by now, because yesterday I flew to Kansas City and picked up two 10 week old Neva Masquerade Siberian kittens!!!!! :woot: Yes, seven months after Harvey's crossing, we have babies!!

A little boy and a girl. DH named them Boris and Natasha (for those of you not old enough to get it, google it) They are beyond adorable. They were amazing on the flight home, slept most of the way thanks to a rowdy play session with all their siblings, half-siblings and parents at the breeders' home during my visit. When we got them home (at 1:00 am), we put them in the only usable room that has a door, Mark's office. The floor installer just finished it yesterday! They played for almost three hours, non-stop. Mark had to go to bed after about an hour, but I just couldn't tear myself away. Finally, I hit the sack at 4:00 am (after getting up at 3:00 am!). Mark was up and in there working at 6:00 am. They have kept him entertained, and distracted, all morning. They are finally napping now. With several beds and blankets scattered about the room, they have chosen Mark's chair as the purrfect bed! :p

Natasha is a lynx point (possibly seal lynx point - too soon to be sure). She is very outgoing, inquisitive and determined. She has already made three escape attempts. She will gobble down all of her food, then go eat Boris', and he lets her. I'm going to have to monitor that.

Boris is a seal point. He is more reserved than his sister, but he can still play up a storm!

So I hope you all understand if I am not around a lot for the next little while. I'll try to visit when I can, but between the remodel and irresistible kittens, it's hard to do anything else!

As always, sending vines and prayers to all in need, and :bighug: to all their beans.

Oh what absolute beautiful darlings! I don't envy you a bit with kittens tho'....give me 5 seniors instead of 1 kitten.

I grin about the names....remember Bernadette's little diabetic 'Tashie' that was here for a while? Her name was actually Natasha, her brother's name was Boris.

I know you're SO ready for the remodel to be done - can't wait to see it when finished.

HUGS!!

Sure have noticed and was wondering...
I'm certain that when the remodel is done it will have been WAY worth it. Wish I could dig in to some house improvement projects myself. Instead, my "to do" list just seems to be getting longer

Kittens, well let's just say I probably wouldn't leave my house except for going to work so I could support them!
As far as being on the board, all I can say is you better visit with a bunch of photos at least!

Yippee!!!!! They are adorable! So very cool that you took a brother and a sister! Love the names and I am old enough to know............ Do you remember Beany and Cecil cartoon around that same time as Bullwinkle? My first seal point Siamese was named Cecil.

Thanks for sharing their sweetness with us! And please keep the pics coming.

Ahhh, they are so cute and fluffy! I love fluff balls:p:p. They sure will keep you busy but very smart getting two so they entertain each other. Enjoy them as we know you will. Have you told them how lucky they are to have you both as their beans? :joyful::joyful::cat::cat:

How adorable. I'm so happy for you. I'll be waiting for the next update to see more cute pictures. I hope the remodel gets finished soon.

Tricia, they are absolutely adorable and I know they will bring lots of love and laughter into your home.
I am so happy for you all. .

They're adorable! Enjoy! I remember Boris and Natasha and Cecil and Beany (Beanie?). And Space Ghost... Have fun with your babies!

I am still getting over the part about you waking up at 3:00AM.
I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that. :p I told Mark I might as well just stay up all night, since I'm often up that late, but he made me go to bed at midnight.

When I googled Boris and Natasha, I got an image of Boris and Natasha Trump.
Hmmm. When I did it I got the Badenovs from the cartoon, and from the live action movie. I didn't even know there were Boris and Natasha Trumps.

To me, anything under two years is a kitten
Siberians are not fully mature until they are 5, so mine will be kittens till then! ;)

Have you told them how lucky they are to have you both as their beans?
Thanks, Karen. That's sweet. I may have mentioned it once or twice. :joyful:

They are so cute and lovable :) Congratulations Boris & Natasha! and Tricia & DH too ;)
Thank you, Dyana.

I hope the remodel gets finished soon.
You and I both, Carla. I'll be sure to post pictures every once in awhile. I've only taken about 1000 in the past 28 hours!

I know they will bring lots of love and laughter into your home.
I am so happy for you all. .
Thank you, Bron. They already have. I don't think either of us has smiled this much in a long time. :)

Ahhh, sounds like another member of my generation! We are having lots of fun!

OMG, I don't blame you for not wanting to do anything else beside staring at their little faces. Just too cute!!! :cat: I wouldn't get anything done... BECAUSE I'D HAVE TO LOOK AND PLAY WITH THE BABIES ALL THE TIME!

OH, I was hoping I would see a post soon about some new additions!!!!! Congrats on your new little furbabies. They are beautiful. I'm sure they will keep you busy, and will be bringing you much joy and smiles:):):):). And maybe a few antics with some o_O:confused::facepalm::rolleyes::nailbiting::p to liven things up, LOL. I need more pictures! They hit the jackpot with their wonderful new beans, too. I'm so happy for you and Mark!:bighug::bighug:

OMG Tricia....they are adorable!!!!!!!!

I'm so happy to hear that you have paws in the house again! I know how much you've missed them!!

Wish I'd known you were going to KC...Could have maybe come up and met you for lunch....and met your two little sweeties too!!!

Ah, Chris, I would have said something to you, but I was really only there briefly. Landed at 1:40 and left at 8:15. The breeders live in Olathe, so I had to drive down there and back. In hindsight, an overnight stay might have been a better plan. I did think of you, as I was driving back to the airport, and wondered how far away you were.

I haven't seen a China condo in a while, although I admit I haven't been on the Board much recently. I hope all is well with you, your DM and the furbabies.

wondered how far away you were.

it takes about 1 1/2 hours to get to KC...a little further to get all the way to the airport

I haven't been posting as much lately....been busy with DCIN and China's pretty incredibly boring, so not too much to post about!! DM was sent to the hospital last Thurs in CHF and Monday I put her into the nursing home nearby for at least a little while to get some rehab. She really wants to go back home, but I'm kind of hoping maybe she'll learn to like the nursing home. They do have activities there to keep her busy but I also know there's noplace like home.

Will be watching for updated pics of the new little fluffballs!! (and yes, unfortunately I'm old enough to remember Boris and Natasha too....LOL)

What a relief it would be to you, to have her decide she wants to stay there. AND, no "helpful" neighbor!

China's pretty incredibly boring
Gee, so sorry about that - NOT! :D

Oh Tricia, what lovely news about your beautiful kittens, they are beyond adorable and I am so happy for you and Mark that you have little souls back in your life. Wishing the kitties a long, happy and healthy life, they have certainly hit the jackpot! Many :bighug: to you all.

Thank you, Suki. I just tucked them into bed. Natasha fell asleep on my lap in mid-play. Kittens are so amazing.

Tricia, your new babies are just too cute and adorable!!!! I know that your heart is so happy to have more fur kids to love and cherish!!! Sending many congrats and hoping that you will post as many pics as you can!!!
