Trouble, GA
It is with a heavy heart and much sadness and tears that I report Trouble, the stray that was living on my patio crossed the bridge on 4/19. He was left behind due to an eviction along with 4 others. The other 4 disappeared but not Trouble. He would meet me at the gate when I returned. He loved being combed and fussed over. He was also a talker. He went missing about a month ago, when he returned he had a nasty wound in the left side of his neck. I tried to catch him to take him to the vet but he was elusive and not around when the vet was open. I finally succeeded this morning. In fact, he walked right into the carrier and never said a word on the trip to the vet. He knew he needed help . I had been cleansing the wound with saline solution and applying antibiotics. I could not bandage due to the location and fear he would get caught on something. According to the vet he was about 5 years old. He was an intact male. He had a high fever and needed extensive surgery to repair his neck. Prior to surgery he was tested for Felv/Fiv. He tested positive. I had the choice of confining him to a cage for the rest of his life, after a complicated surgery, which she estimated would take 4-6 weeks to recover from, if he could recover. I did not feel it was fair to lock him up for the rest of his life. He was a sweet boy. He was used to coming and going at will. I have cried my heart out but know that I made the right decision. He is not suffering anymore. He crossed surrounded by love.
Tuffy will miss him. She looks for him at feeding time. Although she did not appear to like him, when he came for meals, she would always tell me he was here.
Fly free sweet Trouble, you are missed. I hope your time with us provided you with the love and affection you so wanted.
When we meet again, freed from the demands of this existence, With your presence, as with the presence of all our GAs will the beauty of eternity be complete.
We love youTrouble.
When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free!
Miss me a little, but not for long,
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love the we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go!
For this a journey we all must take,
and each must go alone,
It is all a part of the Master's plan
A step in the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me, but let me go!
