This morning I have moo his shot as normal but when I pulled the needle out and looked at it, the tiniest little drop still on the top of the needle was reddish with blood.
I've never seen this before.
Now I'm freaking out.
I keep thinking what if when the needle was in I accidentally pulled back a little and got some air in there? And now I've shot an air bubble in him?!???
Or did the needle just catch him funny on the way in or out and got the blood?
He acted the same. No different than any other shoot
But now I'm freaking out that I'm going to come home from work and well...
Please tell me I'm freakin out for no reason?!!
Thanks.

Btw I know my ss Is not updated I've been swamped ill get to it tonight

You're freaking out for no reason.

You would have needed to inject air into a vein or artery for there to be a problem. The most likely scenario is that you nicked a capillary on the way in or out. We all shoot subcutaneously -- into the space between the skin and muscle. You're not shooting intravenously or giving an intramuscular shot. The biggest headache could be if some of the insulin got into the bloodstream which might drop numbers quickly.

I freaked out like this once when I found a droplet of blood in the needle after injecting, and was told not to worry. Most likely you nicked a capillary.
