Oops, posted without typing anything...

I need to ask for prayers for Oscar's safe return home. He's been missing almost 24 hrs now. I took the drooler and walked around the neighborhood this morning calling and whistling for him, but no response. (Yes, Cleetus and Oscar both come to a whistle  ) I realize that young male cats take off for long periods of time, my others did the same thing when they were young. But this is the first time he has not come home for dinner, and not come in at bedtime. He's a very friendly little guy, and at just 1 yr old is still a cute little tiny kittenish looking fellow. He also is not afraid of dogs and will approach a strange dog, walk up and touch noses with them...even big dogs. This scares me more than anything. So please pray that he comes home safely and soon. The power of this board is amazing!

On the good side of things, Shnookie went to the vet Wednesday for a recheck of his T4 - and he's back within reference range!! :RAHCAT :RAHCAT His heart murmur is a little milder and his heart rate was normal! :RAHCAT :RAHCAT So we stick with this nice small half-dose he's on and Dr wants to recheck in 6 months. Bad news is he weighed in at 19.65 lbs....we gotta get back to work on his diet! ohmygod_smile

Re: OT-Shnookie getting better, Oscar is missing

A long time ago, when Champ was a little guy, I used to let him out to wander and he also came home when I whistled for him. One night, at bedtime, I went to the back door, whistled for him, and he didn't come running. I kept getting up during the night to go out back and whistle and he finally came home around 4 a.m. I had no idea what had happened to him, but noticed his collar missing. Since it was a breakway collar, I figured he got hung up on something and finally broke free to get home. The next day, I went out and bought him a new collar with a new ID tag. Three days later, I get a phone call from a man asking if I had my cat. I told him that, yes, I did. He said he had been so worried because he had gone into his garage and found my cat's collar hung up somewhere in there. He always left his garage door open a few inches for his cat to go in and out at night and apparently Champ had found his way in, got caught on something, and finally broke free of his collar to get home. I'm hoping something just like that will happen with Oscar and that he comes home safe and healthy!!!! I'll pray for the little dude!!

Re: OT-Shnookie getting better, Oscar is missing

Oscar's been located!! He's trapped in the next-door neighbor's garage, and they're not home. Poor baby is crying and must be starving, but looks like we have to wait for them to get home from work. At least he is safe. Poor Cleetus heard his brother meowing and tried to dig him out! I feel so bad for Oscar, but am very relieved that he is safe. Thanks everyone!

Great news on Schnookie's checkup! :-D :-D :-D

Hooray! That happened to my GA Cleo! She went missing on friday and I looked every where for her. On Sunday while I was out looking for her my neighbors came home, opened their garage and there she was. She glared at them, stalked off across the alley to my back door and yelled to get in. No response, so she walked back across the alley and yelled at them until they fed her! ohmygod_smile :-D

Hi Anne,
Your kitties take good care of each other! We are very glad to hear that Oscar is OK and hope that your neighbors will get home soon so he can have his dinner.

Bravo Shnookie!! Rusty needs to join you in your Weight Watchers' routine. When do you start?

Hugs to you all,

Ella & Rusty

Good news about Oscar! Maybe you could change the subject line to reflect the happy outcome? :-D

great news! my TC got locked in a neighbor's garage one summer - and thank God she survived because it was hot and she was there for 3 days before i found her. she'd climbed to the top of the attic where there was a vent and started crying. she weighed nothing when i got her, but she was alive and recovered!

so glad you've found him!

If you have the number for your neighbor perhaps give them a call and get the garage door code to get him out...poor guy...
