OT. Relaxed Lantus Kitties Lets Strut Our Stuff!!

I've been meaning to do this for awhile. Now that the chaos of the move is over its time.

I've always said Sugarcats are some of the best looking cats around. And Tight Regulation have their OTJ videos but what about those that insulin dependent? So whether they're OTJ or not I want to make a video of the RL kitties!!

So here's what I need from you all.

Pictures of your Sugarcats. They don't need to be recent, but would love it if you're also in the shot. So we can but faces with names.

Their insulin status...either still on insulin or OTJ.

Which insulin ...Lantus or Levemir

Their age now.

And anything else you want the world to know about them. Like original name, how they got their name. Where they adopted as diabetic or how they came to pick you as their human etc.

Lets strut our beautiful fur kids!!

thank u mel! how nice of u to do this. i would love to see my larry (and others too) in or on a video. :) will be nice to see all the kitties here. ill see what pics i can find. how do u want them sent? or where? this sounds great. ty for ur kindness/generosity. :)
 
Gosh that's a beautiful video.

For some reason, Alska does not like to have his picture taken. He scowls just like I do when I see a camera pointed at me. Perhaps he thinks he is not photogenic like me. I do have 70 pictures in his album which means 70 attemps to get a decent picture... some might be worthy. I do not have any selfies, sorry.

Let me know how you want us to send them and when your deadline might be.
 
What a sweet video. I totally cried at work (I knew it was a risk but I still watched). Musette is so gorgeous! I think it would be really fun to have a little "Relaxed" forum video. I do think we have the cutest cats!

I wish it wasn't on Youtube - my computer just will not play youtube videos. It will play about any others but not YT....happen to have it in any other format somewhere?

I wanna see everyone's sweet babies!!!!
 
No true deadline but was thinking perhaps if I could get all the pictures by the end of August I could have the video ready by October 15 to celebrate Maxwell's Gotcha Day since if he hadn't broke in shipping he would have been one of the first Relaxed Lantus kitties.

Lyresa - did you try to get YouTube through Firefox? I have abandoned Internet Explorer completely because I couldn't get flash videos but I am able to see them on Firefox. Just a suggestion.
 
What a wonderful idea! I've always longed for a special Mikey video like they have for OTJ kitties, even with knowing that he'll probably never get to have one (differential diagnosis as Type 1 since he was so young and didn't go into remission). It's almost like our long-term diabetics don't sometimes get the credit they deserve! :lol: I'm proud of Michelangelo for being on insulin for 2/3 of his young life and still looking and acting like a champ! My vet also compliments him on how healthy he is compared to even the non-diabetics.

Now I'll have to scrounge up some pictures...not even sure if I have any with me in them because I'm the one always taking pictures of him! ohmygod_smile
 
Aw.... I want to see Mikey in video too!!!!

Kpassa - if you figure out how to do a selfie with an uncooperative sugarcat, let me know :lol: I can't figure out how to hold the treat and the phone and remember to purse my lips and make sure Alska gets in the frame and is not scowling :lol:
 
I have LOTS of pictures of me, Jacey, and my foster sisfur Marley. They are on my Facebook page.

I am still dealing with the needle sticks from the human, but I do not mind them too much now. He tells me it is a medicine called Levemir that he is giving me. I am nine years old, and was diagnosed with diabetes two years ago when I was seven.

The human adopted me when I was a tiny little mitten kitten. Because I was a bengal with extra toes, he decided that he wanted to take me home with him. I liked him when I met him, but then he tried to put me into a cardboard box to take home. Well, I did not like this, and struggled and complained, and escaped. I even bit his finger, but he decided that he would tolerate this. He put me into a carrier, and then we went for a ride on a small airplane to go home. I sat in the right seat next to him as he flew the plane back from New Jersey to Maryland.

He decided to call me Bagheera because he liked to name his felines after cartoon characters. First he had Tigger, then Pepe, then me.

When I was six, we got on a much bigger airplane and flew from Maryland to California. Pepe joined us about a week later when the human's father came to help with moving.

Since I have been here, Pepe has left us, and the human went and got another bengal cat so I would have someone to play with. Her name is Jacey. And then he saw a gorgeous snow bengal at the Petsmart, and offered to foster her. Her name is Marley and she is very shy. She loves the human, but she only tolerates me and Jacey. She has been with us for a year.

Oh, and there is an app for Android users so we felines can take selfies. It is called Snapcat. It puts the red dot on the phone screen and when we felines hit the dot, it takes a picture of us!

wow, bagheera, impressive! larry and i are envious of ur great writing. larry makes me do all the typing/writing. quite a story u have. i hope enuf folks send in pics to have a vid. i will get some of larry on asap.

Thank you very much for the compliment!

The human is very dedicated to making sure that other humans learn about us diabetic cats. Too many humans will not adopt a feline with diabetes, and that is silly. It is not too difficult to take care of us. I want to raise awareness of feline diabetes and have some fun showing off me and my sisfurs!

i think we should def do it. what a great idea. and i would love to see the human who belongs to each kitty. if u can't get you and kitty in the picture together, we can just photo shop them together if u need to.

The human doesn't want to be in the picture. He thinks it should be all about us sugar cats! We do not get enough attention and he thinks this is our chance to get it.
 
mel, did u get enuf photos to do this, when u have time? i know ur really busy. i didnt think i had enuf of larry, but i found a couple i love of him that r when he was younger and skinnier. haha :-D
then i evn signed up and was going to submit 1 to a calendar, for fun, but i got everything all done, only to realize it needed a donation with a credit card, which i would love to do! but it was last minute, and just didnt work out. shucks. the pic is a little cloudy, and hes laying on some clothes so its not super neat/tidy but he is so cute. he was heavier in that pic! big big boy, pre diabetic, im sure, and i had no idea. ok, have a good day all!
 
So far I don't have a lot of pictures for this yet and I really need to get a memorial one done for Amy but frankly until I get Miss Autumn flying right again she is my main focus so haven't had the concentration to do any of it at the moment. They are a lot trickier to get right than it looks, especially when adding music to get everything to sync up right.

So I need my own sugars dancing around in the grass and splashing in the water so I'm testing the barest amount to keep them safe before I can spend literally hundreds of hours working up videos.

BTW any tech savvy members that want to become our official video crew? lol
