I know dry food is taboo for diabetics.

Tripper is not diabetic but needs to gain some weight. I was wondering if anyone knows of a lower carb dry food OTHER than Young Again (didn't agree with her) and Clean Protein (allergic to). I would like to give her small amount for over night and want to keep it low carb for obvious reasons.

kibble? you know what happens next right.
hell01.jpg Lewis is having thyroid issues, we leave him a bowl of Royal Canin SO overnight.
You bring the fan, I'll get the ice.

Tripper is hyperthyroid. It took months to straighten it out. Vets who won't try something new, oiy!!!! She is barely 7.1 lbs. Very picky eater, not even a whole 3 oz can of food in 24 hrs. It took me years to get her off dry food when we had the diabetics. Was on prednisolone, now she is on budesonide, so my fear of her becoming diabetic is high, now to add dry back in, it's a recipe for her to become a sugarcat. So hoping a small amount overnight will help. Most times she doesn't touch the wet food at night. Also have to hope she won't be allergic to it like the Clean Protein. She is 18 1/2 yrs old, she deserves to have some fat on her.

I'm sure others have been through this, the decision to move from dry to wet. One bowl replaced by dishes everywhere to avoid conflict, blobs of food pushed off the dish. It's a good thing we have a double sink, one is now devoted to rinsing off half eaten cat dishes. I have the best intentions filling up that sink with hot water at night and in the morning the waters ice cold with blobs of food floating on top. Just close your eyes and try and find the stopper.
Years ago we tried the paper plate thing, that was a disaster. I wonder if a farm supply store would have a small trough.

I'm Luke Skywalker, I'm here to rescue you!
Even Darth Vader leaves something on his plate, probably broccoli.

Paula - would freeze or air dried raw be an option? If so, Stella and Chewy's and ZiwiPeak would be possibilities.

Sienne,

I do use freeze dried, it's what she gets mostly. Meat Mates (preferred now) and Vital Essentials. She just needs more. Occasionally will eat some wet food. Chewy autoship is late so out of her favorite right now. None like Stella's.

PJ and Tux won't eat dry food for the most part. So putting small amount of dry where she sleeps at night closet seems the best choice. She also has a bowl of freeze dried or wet (sometimes both) in there at same time.
