OT: new freeze dried treats and food

Tess got some new treats yesterday! I had been getting freeze dried turkey hearts on Amazon. I found a new site that had not only freeze dried turkey hearts, but chicken and duck as well. They also had freeze dried duck breast, for which Tess goes nuts! At a better price than Amazon too!

The duck might be good for cats w/ food allergies to more common proteins.

The treats are made by Fresh-is-Best who also make freeze dried and frozen cat food, so of course i spent this morning trying to figure out the carb content. I'm calling the company this morning. They have frozen food too, but I hate having frozen food shipped, especially in the summer. They are located in Milwaukee and have a special delivery service in the region, so it might bet a good option for those in the midwest.

In Canada, Nature's Kitchen http://www.mycanadianpets.ca/gpage1.html makes freeze dried poultry bits. I have some of the chicken hearts in house and get the freeze dried quail hearts when I can. Both cats LOVE them. They also have some more exotic meats.

Does anyone know whether the meat used by tese companies is free-range, and free of antibiotics and growth hormones?

I'm going to try and find out those things from Halo today, too. I haven't been able to find comparable treats in South Africa, so I think I'll try and order some from the US or Canada.

I used to give Prime Taste Treats but it has been discontinued so yesterday I bought Stewart Pro-Treat Chicken Liver Treats for Dogs and Enana LOVEEEES THEM!
