After as well as Debbie did with vaping for Valentines Day I asked my wonderfully sweet husband to get me a starter kit. So instead of flowers, chocolate or a dinner at a nice restaurant he did just that. Of course he also wanted to preserve his life so he also bought me a single pack of cigs just in case I didn't take to it like a duck to water. Not a stupid man lol

The first week I almost immediately went from a pack and a half per day to 3-6 a day and yesterday was the first day strictly vaping my battery even died last night so I thought no biggie I'll just smoke this last half of a cigarette. Lit it took 1 drag and just about barfed because it tasted so nasty. So the rest of it went in the trash.

Now I did start with a tobacco flavor and 24 mg nicotine but I'm already eyeing all the yummy flavors especially since when I got my rig the guy who sold it to me let me try his an he had caramel apple..OMG YUMMO!!

I highly recommend vaping for anyone that wants to throw away the cigs. I'm almost 51 years old, I've smoked since I was 14 & tried every other form of stop smoking product out there and failed miserably. This is awesome..no homicidal thoughts, no cravings, no weird dreams just a nice smooth transition.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Mel,

I have the electronic cigs and have tried those. What is this vaping? I think I have seen these things at he cig store. God I need to quit I can`t breath. I am on inhalers and a nebulizer.
Can you put a picture of yours on here?
Oh and keep up the good work, we all know how very hard it is. nailbite_smile

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Terri here it is the leopard part is the battery and boy do they have some pretty ones!! The amber liquid is the juice. That little bottle is equal to 8 packs. It is a water vapor delivery system only 4 ingredients: water, nicotine, favoring and one other I don't remember but its the same stuff in other breathing treatments like nebulizers. You get to contol the amount of nicotine and flavor. I started really high on the nicotine but you can get it any where from 36mg to 0mg. Now my store will custom mix for you but Deb promises to teach me how to DIY it. They are pricey to get started but not a lot more than a carton of high end brand name cigs. Mine ran me about $60 and change. But I also got an extended life battery because there are days I just about chain smoke. And I'm still planning on adding another battery so one can be changing while I use the other and a couple more tanks so I can switch flavors easily.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Mel,

Thank you I found a store here in town that caters to people who vape, so I will be making a trip over there soon to check into this. My carton of cigs are now up to about 75.00 a carton which I go through pretty quick plus the inhalers about 60.00 a month, plus asthma pills. I just had a cousin pass from lung cancer who was like sister to me, 47 years old. Her mother, my mom`s sister also passed from lung cancer, my mom had masses in her lungs when she passed.
Its time to do something, its getting stupid and expensive.
Thanks for putting a picture up I really appreciate it.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Incredibly proud of you. I have never smoked, so never give lectures to smoker's since I dont think i have the right to speak about something i have no real personal experience in. However, I do know that it is without a doubt an incredibly hard thing to kick, so I am definitely a huge cheerleader when someone quits.

Yippee!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

My advice is start with a tobacco flavor and a high mg of nicotine. Mine is actually. Marboro flavored and the bottles run me about $7 atm. I actually wondered if 1 bottle would be enough for a week and so far its more than plenty. And the nice part is you can still smoke when just starting out without any guilt but I'm betting within a couple weeks you're not going to want to. I know the first thing I realized is that I could taste the burning paper. Now they taste like a chemical factory.

And who can resist flavors like strawberry shortcake, chocolate truffle or popcorn?

Mel

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Mel,

I will do that, I smoke menthol but checked out the store online and they have a variety of menthol flavors. The person who owns it should be able to help me out. I don`t want flavors like cotton candy to start as I am afraid if it does not taste like a cig I won`t stick to it.
My cat Sam has a real bad eye infection so when he gets a little better in a couple of days I will head on over to this store.

Terri

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

See that's why I started with a tobacco flavor as well. And probably always will have at least one tobacco flavor as well as some of the other yummy ones. That was why I went brick and morter store first as well and the first thing the guy asked me was what I normally smoked and how heavy of a smoker I was then helped me match the juice flavor to my normal brand. Within a couple days I was breathing better. Now I'm coughing pretty good but its because all the crud is clearing out of my lungs. But I already feel so much better.

My other motivational tool is Jon got me a really cute piggy bank..and told me he would still budget for my weekly carton which once we get my vaping supplies the rest is going in the piggy which he's hiding from me. I can't have it until I've been smoke free for one year then everything in it is mine to spend on anything I want as long as .it was solely for me. No paying bills with it or spending it on him. And to keep me motivated each month he'll put that month's savings on a loadable card so I can look but not touch lol

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Hooray for you!!!! That Jon sure is a smart one!

I was never a heavy smoker but quitting was still difficult and it took three times before it stuck. That was ten years ago.

Every now and then I bum one and smoke it just to remind myself why I quit. It makes me so sick to my stomach for hours. It is a good reminder.

Happy Vaping!!! I am rooting for you!!

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Mel,

I think that's awesome how Jon hid away a piggy bank for you. That's going to be a nice little chunk of change. I hope you buy something nice for yourself.
As usual our weather here is still horrible, so hopefully it will get better soon. I love to smoke in the car, do you smoke yours in the car?

Terri

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

I don't think I know how to drive without smoking. Since I started smoking before I started driving. Lol. Seriously that was the last place for me to give up the cigs but now its strictly the vaping and I'm finding it easier because no fumbling for a lighter, no taking my eyes off traffic to light. No dropping ashes in my lap etc. As soon as it gets warm enough I'm having the truck professionally detailed to get rid of all the old cigarette smell. Just like this summer we're repainting all the rooms in the house, having the furniture cleaned and hanging new curtains. Since vaping leaves no smell behind I want the the house cleared of all traces of my smoking past.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

I am so proud of you! Hate to say I told you so, but isn't it easier than you ever imagined? Never thought I could do it.

The reason I dislike calling everything an e-cig, is because those are the little cigarette look a likes and they suck and not in a good way! What you have is a Personal Vaporizer (PV) an eGo style, which I have 5 of now. I refuse to allow myself NOT to have a charged battery. I'm at 81 days and over 4000 cigs NOT smoked. I'm a happy camper! I only know how many days because of my 'signature' on the ECF site.

Recently saw a PV described as being a Personal Electronic Nicotine Inhalation System.....P.E.N.I.S. but running around the house yelling 'where's my P.E.N.I.S?' Ok for me, I live alone....but....

For anyone interested in cutting back or quitting with e-cigs/PV's please go to http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com . It is the largest site of it's kind and you can learn so much there. If you're just curious, check it out.

On the question of juice ingredients: E-Juice is made of Vegetable Glycerin (VG), Propylene Glycol (PG), nicotine and flavors. Both VG and PG are USP food grade and PG is the product used in most inhalers and nebulizers to transfer medicine into your lungs. Nothing scary here. THIS IS EDITED-When e-juice is used, it does not exhale as a water vapor, but it's as harmless as, please see my post way below.

My 1st juice was a menthol tobacco at 12 mg nic. Since I had been an ultra light menthol smoker, I figured that was the way to go. Not necessarily, in a day I was all into the other flavors I bought and none of them were tobacco of any sort. I got kahlua chocolate coffee and caramel cappuccino and I was pretty much done with tobacco. For a few weeks I still used the menthol tobacco with coffee in the morning, but not for long. Plus I had to reduce my nic, irritated my throat, cause me a dry cough. Dropped it to 4 mg a couple weeks after I quit smoking and it has been fine since then. You have to find what works for you.

As for smell, it's really not a bad thing to smell fruit or cookies or coffee in your house, much better that cigarettes! Even the tobacco e-juice doesn't smell like cigs.

If anyone has questions, I'd be happy to answer as best I can. You can pm me.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Woohoo Mel!!! That is so, so great! And now you can spend any spare minutes, dreaming of your piggy bank and what you'll get yourself. Jon is one smart man!

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Absolutely a piece of cake and I'm chomping at the bit for Friday to get here so I can add new flavors. I've got my eye on Strawberry cheesecake and chocolate truffle. Lol dessert without guilt or calories.

Seriously the hardest part was deciding between all the pretty batteries and cases.

Like Deb never in a million years did I think I'd become an exsmoker. Figured I'd quit when they pried them out of my cold dead fingers. This is almost to easy. I've always smoked full flavored 100s which is why I loaded down on the nicotine.

And yes even the tobacco flavor doesn't smell like cigarettes. Jon never smoked and he says it reminds him of graham crackers and cotton candy.

Nicotine itself isn't harmful to the body and occurs naturally in things like tomatoes and eggplants. Its all the rest of the stuff in cigarettes that's lethal.

I thought Jon was going to have a permagrin last night when I lit that last half of cigarette and gagged. He's spent all last week grinning like a Cheshire cat. Today I woke up with a picture of a stunning pair of boots taped to the bathroom mirror and in soap the note: 400 cigarettes unsmoked. (I have a boot fetish) I go to get dressed on the closet door. There's a picture of a lap top he knows I've been lusting after another note...six months smoke free and on the fridge a picture of an Arabian horse....1 year smoke free lol.
Since he knows I miss my horses in the worse of ways...yep he knows where to hit me where I live. Hehe. He's also been leaving me notes all week with things like x of unsmoked cigarettes = x number of cans of cat food.etc.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

What a great guy! So glad he's in your corner. :-D

Piece of advice, don't buy more juice than you can vape over the next few weeks. No matter where you start, whether 12mg or 24 mg, your body will need less as you go on. I bought 5 bottles 12-16mg and before I could vape them, I couldn't vape that nic level any more. Granted, if you have bottle of 24mg and a bottle of the same flavor of zero nic, you can combine them for a 12mg. I had to do that myself, didn't want to toss the juice that I spent so much for. I bought the zero nic to combine my 12 mg down to 6 mg.

Which brings me to DIY. I'm much happier because it is much cheaper to make your own juices. It IS a constant experiment and you have to learn which juices are good immediately and which ones have to 'steep' for weeks before they are ready. Yes, I blew it out, bought everything I needed to DIY and now have about 80 or so flavors. Been lazy lately, haven't made any new juice. I have about 4 that I really like and keep making them and not having a sense of adventure. Of course, I also make juice for my son and my neighbor across the hall. Son has been quit a month before me, he did it with Blu until I gave him a better setup.

Keep it up girl, the more I vape the more I love it! And I can BREATHE again after 42+ years of smoking!

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

I am by myself so my smoking only is killing me and I do not smoke in the house but do hang out the back door when its cold. But if Jon does not smoke I bet he and all the kitties are so glad they don`t have to inhale that smoke anymore.
I am so routing for you and I will be off to the store here soon myself.
When I get these I will probably come back to you guys for help if that's alright.

Terri

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

OH, looks like a mini ProTank topper? Is it glass or poly? Reason I ask, there are a few juices you can not put in poly tanks, have to have glass. Cinnamon, citrus, pineapple, some banana flavors will all crack or melt a plastic tank.

Best glass tanks I've found, best price, is the RG200, from fasttech, $6 and change as oppossed to the $18 I spent on my first glass tank at a B&M store. The RG200 is a 2ml tank. There is also the RG400 and 500, which are 4 and 5ml tanks. But you need a different beauty ring for those, because they are so wide. Will look great on my Variable Voltage PV I plan to buy next month. Then I'm done, I swear!

Girl, you need to come over to ECF occasionally. I keep both sites, FDMB and ECF open on my pc all the times :-D .

Gonna try to put a pic of my vape stuff and what I use to organize it. This is not DIY, that's all in the kitchen, my lab!

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Deb,

Tank is glass. That's all they sell at my shop. Unless special ordered. Ya I need to get over there if Autumn will ever let me sleep a full night lol.

Terri

Join us. Its awsome. No smoking in the cold. No ashtray to empty.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Deb,

I am impressed with your setup. WOW. Hey whatever keeps you off the nasty ciggs. I might head over to the store tomorrow and check it out if its not -15 here.
Damn, they just said we are getting another winter storm, I am so sick of this winter, if its not -20 we get a foot of snow.
I will be happy if I can get off the ciggs, the inhalers and the nebulizer, I never sleep a whole night, always wake up weezing.
Mel, what flavors are you using now?

Terri

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Mel, that's the best way to go. But consider saving some $$ with fasttech. The only drawback, is the 3 weeks it take to get to you. I have 4-2ml and 2-4ml. I like to change flavors. :-D I also have 7-8 CE4S clearomizers, plastic, that hold about 1.5 ml that I use occasionally. But the glass ones are the best. Never have to worry about what kind of juice you put in them. Plus, they clean better, the plastic ones can hold smell and taste and hard to get out.

To anyone considering a PV, get the largest mAh rating you can. 1100mAh or 1300mAh are the largest and they last longer with a full charge that the 900mAh or lower.

And ALWAYS have a back up if you quit smoking. The last thing you want to do is go for cigs, just because your battery is dead. :o Yeah, my backups have backups! I am determined to never put another cig in my mouth!

@Terri, it's ok, it'll be there when you get there. :-D You've smoked for years and although I completely understand the impatience, a couple days won't hurt. I had ordered 2 starter sets online and lost my patience a week later and went to the B&M store and paid 3 times as much for 1. But that's ok, my others came in, so I had 3 and that was the start of my vaping journey.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Let me add, that although 99% of the time, the exhaled vapor is referred to as 'water vapor', it isn't.

What you're exhaling is the same thing you are inhaling, PG, VG, Flavor and Nicotine, if you use it. Because of the absorption of the nic, there is very little exhaled. A recent study was just released about 2nd hand vapor and the fact that it is harmless. Anyone that is interested should read the studies that have been done, all are on ECF. The ingredients are all USP and have been tested for safety. Of course, since I make my own, I know exactly what's in it and where I get my products from to DIY.

Personally, I would be hesitant to buy juices made in some countries. Use your head!

Of course, nicotine doesn't cause cancer, it's the literally 1000's chemicals that are added to tobacco products, that cause the health issues. We have Big Tobacco companies to thank for those.

So, to end this rant, I just don't want anyone to think or say that it is nothing but water vapor, that's not the case. It may be as harmless as water vapor, but that's not what it is in reality.

Lesson for today! Carry on!

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

Great work Ladies! I think I have to print this thread and send it to my mom....

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

You should print some of the study results on ECF. But you know, there is nothing you can do about her, unless she wants to try it.

Maybe if she sees others are actually ENJOYING quitting it could help. I'm sure she has tried to quit and remembers just how miserable she was....been there done that. I remember one '5 day quit', when my son looked at me and said "You need to go get cigarettes." Yeah, I was witch with a capitol B.

The best way for her, unless she has a friend that vapes and can help her, is to go to a B&M store. There is a website that has each states vape shops, you could check that out and then check out reviews. She'd want someone that understands her needs. To bad she isn't near me. The shop I went to was terrific. The owner is my age and says that most of her customers are over 50. I didn't feel out of place at all. When I walked in there was 5 people in there, all my age bracket, 50+. Surprised me since Chapel Hill NC has one of the largest colleges in the US. I thought it would be all college kids. :-D

If you can tell me what town and state she's in, I'll get with the crew on ECF and see if there is a shop that they would recommend. That's a very good idea. There is also reviews of B&M shops om ECF and I can check them out for you, just let me know if I can help.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 2

No offense Terri but I have to laugh... I live in a townhouse and my next door neighbor only smokes outside her back door and guess where all the smoke goes - right into any open doors or windows in the back of MY house  Consequently, I have to constantly stop myself from bumming one from her.

When I lived in an apartment, the guy downstairs used to hide his smoking inside, from his girlfriend, by exhaling into the intake air vent - which then travelled up and filled my apartment instead of his

I think this was why I had a difficult time with cessation.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 3

Well all ash trays have been washed and not only put away but priced for the garage sale this Summer. Took the coupons for my previous cigarettes and gave them to my ex-boss for his wife and him but attached them to the information sheet about vaping and the business card for our local Vapor Lounge. :-D. Subtle huh?

Best part was the little witch with a capital B a.k.a. the step-daughter called yesterday demanding to bum a pack of smokes from me. Then decided to cop an attitude when I said no. Blew her mind when I told her that I couldn't possibly bum her a pack now or ever again because I don't smoke anymore. Lol.

And last night my FIL let me have the keys and take my new car ( well new to me ) for a drive. It will still live at his place as our garage is only a one car and this baby is a fully restored 1980 Easter Egg yellow rag top cadillac that belonged to Jon's mom before she passed away. Sweet Ride. As long as I stay smoke free it will be willed to me.

Mel and The Fur Gang

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 3

It's amazing how good it feels, huh?

Bet that caddie is a sweet ride! You'll have to get a pic next time.

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 3

FYI if anyone wants to vape, you need to get what you need, as soon as you can. Between Big Tobacco, Big Pharma and the FDA, they are trying to ban e-cigs and juice everywhere. The EU just put in a multicountry ban day before yesterday. Of course it will be several months before it takes effect, because each country has to agree and put it into motion. In the mean time, the vapers are fighting tooth and nail and taking it back to court. Many people that don't vape are fighting for it, because it has helped loved ones quit smoking. Anything that drops the %% of smokers, is a good thing.

You can be sure the FDA was watching that. Follow the money. With the millions of people that have quit smoking, BT is losing a lot of $$$. BP is losing almost as much on their NRT products, the patch, gum, etc which only has a 7% success rate as opposed to the almost 70% success rate of quitting with personal vaporizers and e-juice. Then you have our government that is loosing the most in cigarette taxes. So they are all trying to ban and/or take total control. The FDA ia going for control, wanting to make it prescription required, like the NRT products used to be years ago. You know what will happen to the prices then.

BT has already bought out several e-cig manufacturers. That's a scary thing, considering they have been poisoning us for generations with their 4000+ chemicals that they added to cigarettes. What are they going to do to e-juice? I would NEVER buy juice from a Big Tobacco owned company, no telling what they would put in it.

So far there have been various ways they are trying to keep us from vaping, including trying to tax it like cigarettes. Utah and California are trying to ban internet sales, no sales online, on phone or in writing. All sales must be made IN the state by licensed ( and I'm sure expensively licensed ) businesses.

It's getting crazy, but I'll be damned if I'll let anyone keep me from vaping. I'm ordering more hardware after the 1st of March and I have everything I need to make juice. The ingredients in juice will never be banned, it's used for too much. The issue is the nicotine base. They are trying to make severe restrictions on who can buy and sell it, not to mention taxing it out the ying-yang. As it stands, using my normal nicotine level, I have 6 yrs worth of nic base in my freezer.

If they restrict and severely tax the hardware, eGo batteries, etc that's going to make it tough for people that want to quit smoking. Bad thing about these kind of batteries, is they are disposable, when they no longer charge, you have to buy new ones, if you can. The products I am ordering have replaceable batteries and they can't very well outlaw batteries. ;-)

Please check out CASAA - The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association at http://www.casaa.org You will find all the latest legislative motions, what 'they' are trying to do to us and all the recent medical studies on Electronic Cigarettes. It really blows me away when I see what the state/federal governments are trying to do to vapers. Heaven forbid they would have any concern for our health. They'd rather us smoke and die than to quit with e-cigs. It's all about the $$$$$$.

Vape On!

Re: OT Joining the world of non-smokers Day 3

Hurray Mel! I'm rooting for you!! Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things to do-it took me 3 or 4 tries until it stuck. You can do it!!

Well if I can survive last night and the garage door falling on the truck and watching my husband proping it up on two old cat trees while he fixed it enough to get the truck out in 20mph winds in 9degrees without it making me want a cigarette or 20 I'd say I'm done with them.

Plus I don't remember the last time I've been this excited to go pick out my new nicotine flavor. Lol

Mel and The Fur Gang

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm new flavors.... :-D

I found out, while at the juice bar, that about 10 flavors was all I could test, before I couldn't taste anything. Taste bud overload. If you vape a menthol after every 2-3 flavors, it helps clear the palette like sherbet between food courses. :thumbup

Good to know! Although I think there is only about 4 right now that I'm deciding between of course that will probably change when I hit the juice bar. Lol

Mel and The Fur Gang

Oh yeah! Always end up with more than you went in for.

Keep in mind, all flavors taste differently depending on the topper/delivery system you are using. If they have the juice bar set up with the CE4 clearomizers, that most shops do because they are cheap, it should taste better in your Protank. Most flavors are a little muted in the CE4's. You'll learn all the buzzwords in no time, you may not know what I'm talking about right this second. But just know that depending on the tank/system you have on top of your battery, will have an influence on the flavor and vapor production. Your tank is better quality than the CE4's. :thumbup

I think when I was picking my starting flavor it was the same set up I have now just a lower MaH battery. Since when I picked my starter kit I immediately upgraded the battery to a 1100 instead of the 650 that normally comes with it. Have a 1300 on order along with two more glass tanks

I picked a great time to start since they had just opened this branch they were running a buy one get one of equal or lesser value free but were out of the 1300s so should be picking that up today as well.

Out of the 8 guys Jon works with that smoked I've converted 6 to vaping including two wives. Lol I'm worse with this than I am about the evils of dry cat food. Rofl

Mel and The Fur Gang

You go girl! I am so proud of you! :thumbup You are my 1st convert! :-D But then, I don't know anybody!

Is the shop still having a BOGO and do they mail order? I'll check the website if you give me the name. I'm all about sale prices!

No mail order yet. And I'll check this afternoon when I go in on the sale but I did pick up a job app from them. Lol

Now that's the job I need! But I don't have a vape shop less than 30 miles away and I can't afford that at 16mpg in my old truck. Would take my paycheck just to get to work!

Okay girls, got my setup today. Have not had an actual cig in 4 hours which is something. I got three flavors, one methol, one menthol, peaches, menthol and strawberry. Vaped all the way home on it.
I will be checking out more flavors as I go. It cost about the same as buying one carton of cigs to get started. I have said I am not buying any more cigs if I can help it. This is my last carton.

Terri

Woohoo you go Terri it just keeps getting easier. I just got a new juice I had them blend for me. Toasted marshmallow, milk chocolate and graham cracker....yummy nonfatting smores. Lol

I have picked up a new addiction through....working out. Started the 24 day abs challenge. I'm on day 4and already starting to see results. This weekend I'm going back to lifting weights again.

Mel and The Fur Gang

OMG, I need to do something, I have gained so much weight this winter. Maybe once I can breathe I will feel like do something about it. You new flavors sound really good like a very nice desert.
Have not had a cig now about 6 or 7 hours, not missing it, I am getting a headache, to much vaping?

Terri

Alright only 2 cigs in the last 4 days, no cig yesterday at all. Just read that the governor is wanting to raise the cig tax here by 1.25 a pack that would make the ones I some(used to) about almost 100.00 a carton. Enough already.
Mel, hope you are doing well with your not smoking.
K Passa, need to get that e cig ordered or go buy one. One thing, the first couple of days of not smoking I felt like S**t, I was achy and spacy. I called the guy at the ecig store and he said it all those chemicals from the tobacco coming out of your body, but after two days I feel much better and I am NOT waking up at night every night wheezing.

Terri

Week 3 and still going strong in fact I'm cleaning up at home because Jon's so happy and proud of my progress. He told me he wanted my input on the new curtain rods for the room we just had drywall well the little scamp had no intention of having me help pick the curtain rods instead he took me clothes shopping. He bought me two new pairs of jeans (1 peacock blue, 1dark blue-green) and 3 new shirts to match either pair. And since I picked stuff on clearance and it all was under $20 he bought me a whole new upgraded vaping rig. This one is a pass through variable voltage 1300mah in pretty purple. And I'm seriously becoming addicted to two of my new juices. Smores and the one the guy created just for me which is hazelnut/vanilla butter cream which tastes like spice nut cake.

Can't wait for the ones on order get here. I have caramel chocolate cheesecake, lemon drop, and Snicker Doodle cookies on order and should be here next week.

You go, Momma Mel! My sister is shipping me her e-cig kit (barely used) because she doesn't need it anymore (never smoked enough to get any benefit from it and just quit cold turkey). I also just found out one of my brother's friends opened a vape shop so I'll be going with him to check out the selections as soon as my e-kit arrives! I can't wait! :-D

This morning I heard this on the radio and thought of all of you cessational smokers:

"So grab your vape and a cup-of-joe..."

Okay almost two weeks and I only had 3 actual cigs, lit two up and put them out. They tasted like crap, burnt paper. I still miss smoking though. Not sure why. I sure feel better, I can actually breathe and have not woke up wheezing at all.
Hope everyone else is doing well and not smoking.

Terri

Confession...this weekend with everyone sick and stressed to the max I killed a pack of actual cigs but immediately noticed the difference in my breathing. But hey it took me 7 days to kill it since I broke down and bought the pack Thursday night. And smoked the last one this morning because I forgot to charge my batteries.

What I found was a lot of my smoking was patterning. More habit than actual desire. Like I would time the filling of the bathtub with a cig. It took the same time to fill as it did to smoke a cig. So I had to repattern my behavior. So like for the tub I now keep a crochet project by me and I can crochet x number of stitches. Instead of a smoke after dinner I take the dog for a walk. He's calmer in the evenings and I get some fresh air and exercise. It also really helps I'm finding to treat yourself to things that the money would normally be spent on cigs. Also cutting out pictures of your dream wish list and sticking them where you see them every day with how many unsmoked cigs they cost. Change the pictures often so they don't become common place.

Mel,

Thanks for the confession. I have tried to smoke believe me, cause I still have cigs left from the last carton I bought. I loved to smoke, I miss it. But when I would light it up it did not have that really good taste like I remember. Tasted like I was trying to smoke burnt paper, not that good taste like it used to be. I used to smoke menthol. I even opened a new pack still tasted like crap.
I can`t say I will never smoke again, god knows what will send us over the edge and I used to smoke a lot when I got stressed. If I was you with all those sick kitties I would have been smoking too and having some cold ones as well.

Terri
