Does anyone have a preference for a certain brand of syringe, for assist feeding?
I have finally realized that the only way to get Miralax into Tux, for chronic dry stools, is to mix it with a little thinned food and syringe it. He accepts it well.
I tried for the three years, that Checkers was on wet food, to transition Tux, but he won't eat it.

I've tried different syringes, but find they stick and squirt, after using and cleaning, a couple times.
I will move this to Health forum, if I have to.
Thank you
Barb

Have you tried mixing it in baby food? Max laps up the Gerbers with 1/8 t miralax in it unless he is really sick. Someone I know uses the plastic ketchup bottles from Smart n' Final and says they work better than syringes. I used Norm ject 10ml syringes when I had to assist Tiffany.

I assist-fed a friend's cat and she got a huge syringe from the pharmacy she worked at for it. That sucker was probably 2" in diameter and maybe 7" long. It was awesome though, because the nozzle part was big enough that nothing got stuck in it. You might stop at a pharmacy and take a look at what options they have.

I've used these when I've had to assist-feed Trix....I cut off the curved tip. But, I do end up with the same problem you've had - they eventually start sticking and being a pain in general. I just assumed there weren't many/any other options since I originally got these from our vetty...

Monoject 12cc syringe

I know what you mean about impossible to transition kitties....got a few of my own !

BTW...great to see you, Auntie Barb!!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
