Doodles & Karen

Member Since 2015
Just letting you all know DH & I are taking a 5 day vacation to NJ starting tomorrow. It's the first time since Doodles dx in 2015. I do lurk daily and try to help when needed in L&L but letting you all know I won't be around for the next week or so. Can't believe it's just shy of 6 months since my baby Doodles went to the bridge so he could rest and play with his L&L friends. It's still a struggle without him but we manage. FD, HCM, & CHF has made me nuts with constant worry and cat-home-syndrome so this trip is not going to be easy. Luckily I do have a friend coming to stay with Leo & Moo.

Leo is 6.5 months old weighing in at 9.9lbs! The little man has severe juvenile gingivitis/ consistent with stomatitis. He had a deep cleaning at the dental specialist last week, a few teeth shaved down and recheck next month. His jaw bone line is way below where it should be and looks like he'll need most of his teeth extracted in 3-6 months depending on the next check up. I've been brushing his teeth twice a day and he's pretty good about it. There's a chance his immune system will fight off Stomatitis but keeping a close eye for now.

Moo still hisses at him on a regular but he loves her. No fighting luckily, Leo chases her and they do sit together on good days. He is a super sweet kitten.

Be good to your beans kitties...eat your fuds and surf. Always vines and prayers for everyone.

Have a wonderful, well deserved vacation and get out and enjoy the world again, Karen.
Leo is adorable (love the name) - I really hope his mouth issues get worked out. I am hearing about so many kitties with bad stomatitis lately -

Coming back to the home state, are ya?? If you need to escape the in-laws and want to drink cheap wine, feel free to give me a buzz!!

I can totally relate to the anxiety...I'm still loaded with it, too, and the idea of leaving the three remaining kitties for even a long day is a struggle.

Safe travels, and try to enjoy yourself. It's great that someone is staying with the babies while you're gone!

A few nights at a hotel, then with the in-laws. I'll need a vacation from this vacation LOL.
All I can do is smile and laugh!!!!

Karen you two enjoy every minute of your vacation! Remember how long it took ya to get to go:p:p

Leo is so darn adorable and poor Moo will some day warm up to roommate;) so sorry to hear about his health issues already but he has the BEST bean ever to take care of him:bighug:

Karen enjoy and try to relax on vacation. And remember from one Jersey girl to another-what happens in Jersey stays in Jersey! Leo and Moo are two cutie pies! I hope Leo gets better soon! Have fun! :bighug:

Wonderful news that you are taking a vaca. I like Amy's offer and I will extend the same offer also! 5 days isn't long but if you need refuge :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:.....:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: :bighug::cat::)

Also learned and bought good pet insurance:joyful:
Pet insurance was one of the investments I ever made! They paid for the vast majority of all of Lenny's expensive procedures, including the MRI and his disc surgery.

I am just so impressed that you are able to brush Leo's teeth. I don't think any of my cats would let me do that.

Have a great vacation and try to not worry about the kits.

Yeah, I learned that lesson, too, after paying for a new building at UCDavis!

I'm so glad you and DH are getting away! I understand the anxiety. I felt it after Harvey crossed, and there were no kitties at home to worry about.

Sending vines for that cutie's mouth. I think Moo likes him, but has a reputation to uphold, so can't show it.

Karen, I hope you have a wonderful, much-deserved vacation! Try not to worry about the kitties, they will be fine with the sitter.:)

Wow, Leo is huge for just over six months! He's going to be a big boy. I hope his dental issues resolve themselves. Moo might come around eventually, I think she just wants to make sure Leo knows his place in the household hierarchy, lol.;)

Relax and have fun!:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hope you and DH have a wonderful time on vacation. So sorry to hear Leo has trouble with his teeth. Must say you have a couple of good looking kitties. Willy seems to be doing fine with his Mega colon so far managing it with miralax.
