I was just wondering if other cats snore and dream much. I've grown up with cats and have nevet had one snore, squeak and twitch like Milo. This is not a once in awhile thing. He does it daily. We enjoy just watching and listening to him. He gets so loud you can heat him across the room.

Just made me wonder how many other kitties have dreams like this.

Sometimes when Saoirse's in a deep sleep she has the cutest, gentlest, quiet snore. She also does the paw twitches, though not as much as she used to since developing pancreatitis. I love to listen to her when she snores and watch her when she's twitching. She sounds and looks really peaceful and contented when she does. (((Saoirse)) :)

Hannah sometimes makes little grunty-snorey noises when she's napping. She's at my feet, napping right now... and she just did that. This isn't anything new for her. She's done it her entire life. I love that sound, as I think she mostly does it when she's content. Her civie (GA), Daisy, used to snore a lot. There was no question about it... it was definitely a SNORE. I loved that sound, too. It always brought a smile to my face. Can't tell you how much I miss hearing it, now.

My cat, Mouse, snores like a bulldog sometimes. Once, she was snuggled up with another kitty and after about 10 minutes of the snoring, Shita looked up at Mouse, gave her kind of dirty look, and left. Mouse never missed a beat! :joyful:

Reminds me of a relationship I once had. I was Shita to his Mouse. The first time we stayed overnight with some friends, the lady of the house said to me the following morning that she felt "desperately sorry" for me.

The villain of the piece told me he once stayed overnight in the hall of residence when his best mate was at uni. The building was made of concrete blocks. During the night, a student knocked on the door to complain about S's snoring. He was in a room on a different floor! S. knew he snored but would never acknowledge just how badly. Until I taped him. His own jaw dropped when I played it back to him. :D

Well, Áine, your reply just cracked me up. I'm still laughing! :D

(Unlike the house-rattling snores of my husband, which thankfully only occur if he's been outside working on a dusty, windy day ... )
Oh, Robin, I can so relate! At times, my DH snores so loud, I get out of bed, go downstairs, and sleep on the couch in the den... and I can still hear him up there, ripping away like a chainsaw. With him, it's usually related somehow to having a few too many beers. Go figure.

You gave me one terrific laugh after a very tiring weekend (Bat-Bat's been bouncing, darn it). So thanks for that!!! :joyful:

Glad my historical suffering cheered some of ye up. ;) If you thought that was funny you should have seen S's face listening to the tape. The look of disbelief was priceless! I wish I could tell you that my wee triumph was worth the snoring, but I'd be lying: it registered on the Richter Scale.

Just a note: in humans, severe snoring may be associated with obstructive sleep apnea, especially if there are moments in the night when the snoring stops.

Noted! But I'm not going to let that stop me from getting a good chuckle or laugh from some of the posts regarding this matter. Sometimes in life, even serious topics can result in a ray of humor... thank goodness!
