Good morning everyone! I just wanted to share this beautiful video, "Almost Home," by one of my favorite music artists, Moby. He is an avid animal rights activist and this song and video are so touching. After my recent loss of my beautiful Mego, it's been hard to imagine another furkid coming into my life. But this video squeezes my heart and pulls at my heart strings knowing there are so many who need fur-ever homes and beans. I hope you all enjoy the video... :-D

Sending healing vines to all those in need and holding very close all of our beans who've lost their little ones over these last few weeks. Peace and comfort to you all.
 
If people don't know about Best Friends, their sanctuary is worth knowing about. The sanctuary has saved thousands of animals of all kinds from life on the streets, from abuse by providing sometimes overwhelming amounts of medical care, provides them with appropriate habitats, and even has a place for them when it's their time to cross the Bridge. They have sent teams of vets and volunteers into communities where there are natural disasters to rescue pets or to move animals from local shelters to Best Friends in order to make room for those local pets who need temporary shelter until their families find them. One of our members, Lydia, adopted her now GA kitty Sid, who was an older cat, from Best Friends. The video is part of their current campaign -- "Save Them All." I love how celebrities are stepping up.
 
Thank you Katie! Let's hope the message gets around to many, many people this year and helps some of these babies.
I truly believe that the best way for us to honor our GA pets and the love we shared with them, is to adopt and love another. This is the most unselfish form of kindness and love, and the truest spirit of empathy.

I'm so glad you all liked the video. I think I've watched it and listened about 10 times now. They do such wonderful work. :-D I think adoption is going to be the way for me when I'm ready. Happy Caturday to you all! :-D
 
Thanks you Katie for posting this. It was wonderful. When we lost Mannie several months ago,we went and adopted. Best decision I ever made. Bug and Lola have been such great additions to our home.
