I took in a very small cat with a bloody paw. Took him to the vet today and the paw has 3 puncture wounds and the skin is necrotic. I had full labs, and all testing done. He is FIV +. I know nothing about FIV. I'll take any advice or resources anyone knows of.

FIV is manageable and they can live a good life with it--
low stress -good food is a major component.
it is like HIV in a way....
It can be contracted by a bite wound (usually a deep bite wound) and possibly scratch (although I have never known this to be true) to another cat. I had a FIV+ with 6 other rescues and everyone else was fine.
I did crate him at night although he was a Houdini and got out often.

Quality food is important and a good vitamin/immune support and I like Micro flora for a pre pro biotic and enzyme-

I personally think vaccines are very hard on a FIV cat although others will disagree-- I did find a home for my little FIV kitty and they vaccinated him. Sadly he started to decline after that and I took him back as they could not care for his needs. I would never let a FIV cat outdoors.
