YOWZAS!!! So Mego had his first ever projectile vomit since being switched to wet food. I have a feeling someone was really hungry this morning and scarfed his food down a little too fast. He did it behind the couch and good lord, you can't mistake that "noise" for anything else. I gave him some more food about an hour later and so far he's kept it down. I will tell you that wet food gherk-ups are way messier than dry food gherk-ups. YUCK... AND THE SMELL! Sheesh! FF chicken classic sure doesn't smell like chicken!

I didn't get an AMBG this morning but last night he was good.

Hope you are all well this morning and Congrats to Jane & Cleo on their first reducie from last night. Brave Jane, very brave!

ohhhhh .. yes, that sound is quite unmistakable! I hope this was a one time thing .. cleaning that wet throw up can make one throw up themselves!

First, you give kitty some soothing words and a hug and let them know they will be ok and you still love them.

Then you clean up the carpet, because cats almost always projectile vomit on the carpet and not on the easy to clean tile or wood floor.

And then you worry if there might be something wrong with them and stay up all night testing their BG levels. Or at least that is what I did the one and only time Wink was still on the juice and vomited.

He was just fine.

Blech, yes, always on the carpet and quite gross to clean...and usually happens during MY dinner-so not appetizing to listen to either  Of course, then I also worry if it was JUST scarf and barf, or something worse  I do have a kitty who has always been a bit pukey and has hairballs despite my best brushing efforts. Wet food switch seemed to help a lot...still happens sometimes tho:) Hope the rest of the day has been vomit free:)

Right on point!

Sometimes I can hear Molly getting ready to fire, and I can run over with a paper towel and hold it under her mouth. I've got a decent track record! Sometimes she scoots out of reach but once it starts, she generally doesn't move.

Thank you Katie! I think Cleo is having a "bounce" today. When I got home from work and tested at +11, she was 349! What a difference a day makes! She is waiting patiently (not) for her dinner, but I can't give her the insulin till 6:30, sooooooo, I am trying to ignore her.

Good luck with the kitty throw up. None of mine (fingers crossed) are big pukers, sometimes a hair ball. But, if an occasional one comes up, and I don't get to it fast enough, my dog Benny will clean it up - Yuck, and then he wants to kiss your face.

Good luck with Mego - You are doing a great job!

Ok, after this morning's ralphing - I decided to get a PMBG test tonight and we're at 69. I'm ok with that. And it doesn't appear there was any more vomiting or other unusual "stuff" going on. He seems to be acting his normal self. I'm gonna chalk this one up to a "scarf and barf" as Lisa so lovingly put it.

Hope everyone had a good day. I'll play catch up on the board a little later tonight after I get some other "stuff" done. Why is there a never ending supply of "stuff" that needs to get done? ohmygod_smile

Ahhh, because your still alive?

I better run quickly, before I get pelted with nanners for such a bad joke.
