A friend with a kitty allergic to grains recently switched to a brand of dry food called "Origen". She's extremely pleased with the benefit to her "Jack." I, too, have "Lucy" who sneezes and wheezes and I believe it may be a gluten to wheat problem. However, "Fred" is my diabetic (mostly kept OTJ with a wet diet -- which included some grains. So, I was interested in the stats on this product. Here's the info....:
Crude protein 42% (almost all fish product from Canada); Crude fat 20%; Crude fiber 2.5%; Moisture 10.0%; Calcium 1.7%; Phosphorus 1.4%; Ash 7% (this is a bit high for me); Omega-6 fatty acids 2.5%; Omega-3 fatty acids 1.8%; DHA/EPA; 1.0%; Taurine .04%; Magnesium 0.09%.
This product is 80% protein, 20% fruits, veggies & botanicals and 0% grains.
It would be so nice to be able to switch wot dry for a few meals -- especially when I need to be away for long days.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Kathleen & Fred
