Hello!
Orange is a 12 year old orange tabby rescue. He has been my cuddly baby that loves attention ever since he was months old.
A few years ago he started putting on weight so he went to the vet and went on that high carb really expensive (diet food) that they prescribed. We also found out he has an over-active thyroid so he has been on medication for that as well. After years of no luck and no weight loss he is now diabetic. He last weighed 22. lbs. After eating good quality wet food for a few weeks now, I think he is already losing weight.
I have been reading and researching tons! He is now only eating Tiki cat wet food and I am testing regularly. He started at 2.5 units of Prozinc but his numbers became erratic and low so the vet and I decided to try 2 units for a while.
Today he had his lowest number and even after eating, it got lower. How low is too low for him based on his chart? When do I need to worry? I just gave him a snack of wet food with gravy 2 hours after his breakfast. He did not receive insulin this morning. How is his BS still dropping?
Help?!?

This group has been amazing and I feel so lucky to have found it! I feel that I have even been able to educate my vet on a lot of topics! I think it has already saved me from going through even more confusion and has helped me to get him on the best track possible. It is overwhelming but I am hopeful that he will get better. Thank all of you!
