I am reading a book called "Sugar-babies" and in this book it talks about different herbs that will help a cat or dog. One of them that I am interested in is called
L-Carnitine - This amino acid derivative can help animals loose weight while maintaining lean muscle mass. It also decreases accumulation of fat in the liver cells.
Since Chicken Little needs to loose weight and also has Liver Failure I think that this would be beneficial to her.
This information was located in a section of the book called - Nutraceuticals that have been used in diabetic pets
There were others talked about but this one sounds like a really good one to add to what Im already doing with CL.
Opinions Please on this subject. Maybe someone has used it before?

I haven't used it. Its an amino acid, or protein building block, so it isn't likely to harm anything giving it to a diabetic. If there were stage 3/4 renal disease, you might want to be cautious.

No renal disease at all. Last test in July indicated her Kidneys were fine. I think I will give it a try.

Definitely good for the liver. The specialist had me giving Katie L-Carnitine when she had fatty liver. I just sprinkled it over her food.

Where did you get yours at? I found some at the grocery store but it was for humans and I was afraid to use it. No sugar in it.
Thanks
Terri

If there is no sugar, no artificial sweetners, and no flour, it should be fine.

The only thing questionable was a coating to make it easy to swallow however I'm going to have to ground it up and mix with food.
