I most likely will. Yeah I was really happy to hear there even WAS a conference discussing fd! I would have wanted to go myself! She really is a good vet. She does care.Hey that's awesome that she's going to a conference! Well I'm glad IAA was negative, but it doesn't help explain why CC has needed so much insulin...could just be a high dose kitty I suppose. The acro test might tell us more. Are you planning on getting it?
Thanks. My vet is particularly expensive so it is probably right. They do give me a 10% "courtesy discount" when I go as a very frequent customer. Lol sad, right? One Christmas they sent me a big box of good chocolates! Haha that's how you know you go there way too much.My vet went to a conference after Colin’s diagnosis and proceeded to tell me all about the things I had already learned here, I just smiled and nodded since he seemed excited about it..... If you do get the acro test, ask them about that price they quoted, it seems high from what others have mentioned recently. I can’t remember what I paid for Colin, it was under $200 but that was over 2 years ago. HERES that info again in case you need it.
She was looking cute laying on her back... so I left to grab my phone and of course she rolled over to be nosy and see what I was doing. LolShe sure is cute! I love how she has her back feet perfectly squared off.
CC and Josie could be littermates, they look so much alike. Love those tabby girls!
Yes I talked to the vet and an acro test is the next step.Hi Janet - I'm not on the forum as much these days. CC is looking good. What a great pic!
But those high numbers are fairly indicative of Acro. The test was less than $200 for Leo (in 2016), and then I took him for SRT in Sept 2016. I have never regretted that.
Hardly any vets know about Acro. But there is the study (that I can find) which showed that 20% or so of all diabetic cats have some level of Acro. Anyhow, I hope you are doing fine, and it is good to see you are trying to get CC regulated. It is so hard when their levels just keep going up.
