So i got the onetouch delica yesterday and tested the settings and I easily saw the highest setting poke out the farthest and now it seems its stuck on one setting and it's the lowest it looks like. I was able to check my non diabetic cat several times but it took a few times to even get it to work. I tried it on my Morton's paw and it poked but wasnt deep enough it bled too little. I dont know what to do because it seems like this device would make everything okay and I'd be able to easily and safely check Mortons bg when he needs it and now it's not working after a day?! I changed lancets several times

Hello Aliciakuy. I have never used that particular lancet device. So I went and looked at some reviews, and it looks like many people have had the exact same issue. Lancet getting stuck on one setting, or not cocking properly so the needle always sticks out. I recommend trying a different brand. In the meantime, you can try lancing by hand. Many members do this, and it should help you until you get a new device. If you go to this link, there is a lot of information on different types of testing and videos.

I hand held the lancet at first, before I got a device. It's very much like using a device. I do suggest holding the ear rather firmly. I gave my Billy a little notch in his ear when he moved at the wrong time.

Oh I need a device. He has a clotting disorder so free handing is not an option because of how horrible he freaks out. My only option is his paw pad. I could try without the cap on it but I was just wondering if anyone knew of a better one or if it can be fixed. The techs at my work said they completely understand why I need to do it the way I do because they cant even get him without restraining him and his head but he still thrashes it around terrified

Found this comment over on amazon about your lancing device.

"the little adjustment wheel moves really easily and since I don't keep my lancing device in a case where it is isolated from other objects, the adjuster gets bumped around a lot and I wind up lancing too deep anyway"

If that is not the issue, than it sounds like the spring on your lancing device may have broken. You have a defective product. Take it back to the store where you got it and get a refund. Buy something else.

There are many lancing devices available. You may want to read these 2 articles I found on different lancing devices available.

p.s. Test the lancing device on yourself, not your poor non-diabetic cat.

Does the adjustment wheel still rotate?
Lancet pens, including the Delica, momentariarily make the lance tip p\shot out from the tip and then the lancet retracts back it. Otherwise the tip of the lancet in the pen does not protrude past the tip.
What gauge lancets do you have? Mine elica pen came with some 33 gauge lancets and with those it was hard to get blood. I tried the 30 gauge onesas and they worked a lot better.
