Well right now I'm barely able to sit long enough to post this thread...Autumn is still doing fantastic on her Fat Zero, its her mom that is suffering. With DH out of town all week long I tried to play Wonder Woman and carry in 2 yes 2 40LB boxes of litter at once, slipped on the wet grass and twisted my back. So after a lengthy discussion with my doctor on why he couldn't stick me in the hospital on bed rest I was sent home on pain killers and muscle relaxers and told to stay in bed as much as possible...Well that isn't tough with what they have me on right now, I'm basically awake right now about enough to test, feed, shoot and clean litter boxes, everything else gets done in short bursts and on the weekends when Daddy is home to help out.

I should barring anymore heroic actions on my part be back with you all shortly. When I can I'm still trying to keep up with you all as much as possible.

Oh, ouch!

Tip from the osteopathic medicine types.
Many muscles work in pairs, especially all the ones down your back.
When you tighten the muscles on one side of a limb or your back, your brain tells the other side to let go.
If you tighten without moving on the side opposite the spasms, it will help release said spasm.
So its tighten, hold half a minute (unless there's worsening pain - stop then), and release. Repeat.

I have 12 fused vertebrae that don't bend, nor twist, so this has been a very helpful tactic for me to release my occasional spasms.

For the neck, you can turn your chin against an immoble hand for rotational muscles, tip and tilt against the had for those directions.

May work best after the soaking bath and muscle relaxants.

I hear ya. I have trouble with the 35 lb buckets of litter, so I bought one of the smaller jugs, used the little in it, bought a funnel and a scoop, and scoop litter from the 35 lb container to the jug, which I carry upstairs. So I am just getting the container from the cart into the trunk and the trunk to garage floor. Lift with both hands evenly in front of you, bend with your legs. Shoot, I have to look up the other saftey tips on the company intranet (I work for Disney) if I can remember....be safe!

Oh my goodness....

That sounds so painful - but the drugs sound fun!!! I wish I was there to help you out but Nebraska is a bit far from Virginia. What we do for our kitties!

I have been getting Cat Attract litter and it is in these huge heavy bags that I have to drag up the stairs. After hearing your story, I am going to ask BF to carry it in when he is around.

Yikes! Take it easy and let those kitties comfort and snuggle you.
