I am going to ask my vet to try this med. Should I ask for the 4mg or 8mg tab? What is the usual dose for a 13lb cat?

In cats, the usual dose is 0.11 mg per pound (0.22 mg/kg) every 8 to 12 hours.

For a cat, ask for the 4 mg. form. The dose most people seem to use is 1mg (1/4 tablet) twice per day. I used the same dose for my 10 lb. cat as well as for my 8lb. cat. Some of the tablets are tiny, so I don't know how you'd cut them up into a different size to adjust dose more unless you bought a compounded form. It works great, by the way. The only time I had to go to something stronger (anzemet injection) was when one cat had liver problems.
