OOPS! I forgot to give Baby her shot this morning so her PMPS was 555!! But I called Lori and she told me to leave him on his original dose. We'll see how her curve looks tomorrow. Since i upped her dose to 1.25, her numbers have been looking good, in the 200's. now i just gotta get her bounced back from forgetting the shot :D

Been there, done that...just recently I got so excited about Musette giving me a nice preshot number that I completely forgot to give her, her morning shot. Then spent all day wondering why her numbers weren't dropping, until I went to draw up her evening shot, there sitting in the frig laughing at me was the full syringe from the morning...lol. It happens to the best of us, just like fur shots, don't feel bad.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I thought I was losing my mind! Imagine testing, filling syringe, putting it down....and leaving it there all day long!

Then imagine not trusting yourself for days afterwards...'I think I shot Tom,,,,,did I. The syringe would be in the sharpee container so I am not sure...Tom, did I shoot you darling?"

Now THAT...is when you've totally lost it! ohmygod_smile

OH OH OH, how about when I opened the cupboard one morning and saw my lev pen in there????? and my pretty glass full of syringes in the fridge?
There, now you know what losing you mind REALLY looks like.

If I check my book, I think i gave him a dose an hour or so late once. What I have had a tendancy to forget is to take MY medicine! Since he was diagnosed, I think I have forgot about 4 times. I take a thyriod pill and I take it first thing in the am, about 45 minutes before I eat b-fast (requirement). I get so caught up in him (and now this stray I have been feeding) that I forget my own pills. Ah, age!

You'll get your routine down! chin up!

Worse than forgetting to give a dose...
Forgetting if you did give the shot. A few mornings, after working till midnight or later, I'd set the alarm for 5:45 and get up to test/feed/shoot Bob. Then I'd fall back in bed and get up when the alarm eventually went off again later.A few times my first coherent thought was "I did give him his shot, right? I remember testing, and feeding and I seem to recall waiting around till he was done eating, but I don't remember drawing up the insulin.....oh crap!" I'd have to wait till the next BG test to assure myself I'd actually shot him. I was pretty much a zombie for a few weeks.
But I don't think I actually ever forgot the shot

I will admit I have forgotten a shot too. And forgotten if I forgot, lol! And given a furshot or two or three. And even thrown up my hands in frustration because now I will be late for work, and no kitty cooperation! We are human, and reminding myself of that has been so helpful. We just do the best we can.
