Hello, guess I will just keep visiting the er with my civvies! Poor Lil Sista's left hand is jacked up and dont know why???? Is so sad and now she has to wear this silly thing for days.
The er could not find anything but the pad swelling was intense as was the foul smell... back to er tomorrow nite, remove and replace bandage/cast.
She will go to work w/ mommabean tomorrow so that I can keep an eye on her and make sure the bandage/cast stays on and does not peee on it.

Did the ER doctor check her nails, each one carefully? My Freddie had a slightly swollen front paw /pad, and it had intense foul smell. Initially, we couldn't find anything wrong but he would shake his left paw every now and then as he was in pain. It turned out that he had a nail infection. The nail was torn. The vet initially thought he had to surgically remove the infected nail but at the end he was able to save it and clean up the infection. Freddie then had a course of antibiotics.

Poor Lil' Sista. I hope she's on the mend!

And forgive me if this sounds insensitive, I know that when casts and other contraptions are present, there's pain involved for the furrby, but I think cats in casts are soooo darned adorable! I mean, look at Lil' Sista's photo - that face, that cast - don't you just want to pick her up and snuggle her forever??

ty for all of your concerns!

KSA Kitties:
Vet said she checked everything???? But just seems weird that they found nothing, they asperated w/ needle in 5 different spots and not any puss either but it smells terrible!
So, she cleaned it up, put some antibiotic/ anti inflam. powder on it, wrapped it, gave her an anti inflam. shot and some oral antibiotic...we go to reg. vet today to remove bandage/cast and take a look....dont want to wait until Tuesday JIC. I will for sure ask them to double ck the nails!
Did Freddie's palm pad swell alot too?

She has not peeed on it yet.... she is here with me at work, momma bean snapping pix for her to view when she gets older...
I was looking thru my phone pix and she was behind the dish drainer the other day while I was doing dishes and there were several (3) very sharp knives laying on the towel under the drainer...... But I never saw any blood. She gets into the worst places while momma is buzy and cannot get to her.

Mystery:
I dont find that insensitive at all! and Believe me, she is taking FULL advantage of the situation! lol - she knows how to play it for sure and yes, she knows mommabean over worries and she has had more treats, gets carried around and lots and lots of praise and lovins...PLUS, she is at work w/ momma today too. Bad part, she also gets a vet visit (sshhhhhhhhhhh - she dont know it yet) after mommabean gets off work to remove & replace....eeeeeks....I see lots and lots mooooore lovin tonite. ;-)

Hello,

Freddie's paw/pad was a little swollen/bigger than the other but it was not not very obvious. It was the smell that my first caught my attention. Before taking him to the vet, I checked his paw but I couldn't see anything. He also didn't want me to touch his paw very much. The vet had to sedate him to find the torn and infected nail. There was no puss and no blood, just intense foul smell.
