Oliver had a terrible run-in with pancreatitis last year and was on insulin (Lantus) for several months. He has been insulin-free for 6 months now thanks to the advice found on this forum. We check his BG levels every once in a while and he's been normal (averages 65-85). He eats Evo low-carb dry food and FF cans.

He has asthma and we are trying to get it under control. He has been on pred for 5 weeks now. He is currently on 2.5 mg/day (down from 5 mg starting dose) while he transitions to an inhaled steroid (Flixotide/Flovent).

For the past two days, he has been lethargic. His BG is 165 and he seems kind of out of it. He's still eating for now. Last week he threw up some bile (twice) and yesterday he dry heaved once.

Do these symptoms sound like pred side effects? Is this another flare up of pancreatitis? I'm not sure what I can do to help him feel better. Maybe some famotidine? Any advice appreciated.

Im sorry Oliver isn't feeling well.
My kitty Fritz has asthma and I have him on the Flixotide and oral pred for flare ups. I haven't experienced any of those side effects.
His he feeling the same as he was when he had pancreatitis before?
Sorry I'm not much help hopefully someone will see your post and be able to offer advice.
If not and you feel its an emergency try posting 911 or need advice now or soon. Good luck with Oliver hope he gets to feeling better soon.
Might consider a visit to his vet. :cat:

The vomiting suggests he has something going on. A vet could diagnose it for you.
A small dose of famotidine might help if acid stomach is part of the problem.
