Ennis's SS is not up to date, but he continues to chug along well regulated on Levemir. I have dropped him to .75U from 1U to ensure my ability to shoot him BID. But even those days that I forget to shoot him, he doesn't get much over 150 by +24.

Stefani kept him for about 12 days when Jim and I were away on vacation. (Thank you so very much Stefani!!) She pronounced him the easiest diabetic she has ever had to manage. She said he takes all the stress out of the process, and he does. He is very accepting of his testing, is easy to shoot anywhere in his flank or belly (even if he's under the bed and I have to reach in at an awkward angle), and is just fine without a strict 12/12 schedule.

But Stefani, who hadn't sat him for maybe a year, did notice that Ennis has "gone into retirement." He sleeps alot more, likes to hang out where he's not disturbed (like under the bed or a chair), and has less of an appetite than previously. I've been watching his food since he came home, and Stefani was right. He is less enthusiastic about certain varieties of FF and will not eat "old" food (anything that's not freshly on the plate from the can). So now his small frequent meals are ever smaller and more frequent--getting 1/2 can FF at a time. He'll be going in for his 6-month checkup soon, but in January (when he got bloodwork, and EKG, and a heart ultrasound), there was nothing wrong with him. You couldn't even tell from his bloodwork that he was diabetic.

sounds like a great report and a healthy kitty. I would say that retirement is probably well deserved. I would love to be able to spend my days lounging in comfy spots and having meals brought to me frequently. ;-)
