okay so this is extremely foul-smelling, and right as I had taken this pic and was setting up the post she just had a second one that is more liquidy.....

A couple people know I pay attention to Alice’s poop. :p

But only because it’s weird, man, I swear.
I am genuinely looking for thoughts and ideas here. :)

Thank you!!!

Any diet changes lately? I've noticed some foods create a more potent "smell" than others with my girl. Does she generally have "poop" issues? I'd keep an eye on it. You could try adding a little pumpkin to her food to try to get a bit more fibre into her to firm her up. The second pic looks quite normal albeit a bit too soft.

For a period of time she was having colorless or rather clay-colored stool. This was brought up months ago on here but I never really figured out why. She has these “ropy” looking ones when they have solid rounded form. Fecal score is never just right.

But this mucous stuff was a much deeper weirder color. I don’t know. Hmm.

She has had a couple of Sheba chicken portions but otherwise she pretty much eats only chicken and liver friskies pate. She’s had a little MC gravy here and there recently in small amounts.

Does it take awhile with the pumpkin for it to actually show improvement, typically? I tried a couple times many months ago with it but did not notice anything then.

The second pic is great for color because it’s also color all the way through, but that also doesn’t usually happen. Usually they are paler and have streaks of color or darker mucous bits on the outside sort of, I don’t know. They haven’t been normal since the FD is all I can say!!!!

I have seen lighter coloured stool in my kitties with lighter coloured food and I suppose I could have described it as "clay" coloured at times but it was also well formed and there were no other signs of any issues. Just like us eating beets (more reddish coloured stool) our kitties may present with differently coloured stool depending on their dietary intake.
I expect it would take a few "doses" of pumpkin before you would see a significant difference in the "texture" of the faeces.
Some of the colour difference may be related to the amount of time the stool has taken to travel through the GI tract.
Sorry but I'm by no means a "poop" expert and have thankfully never had to deal with more than a day of soft stool because it resolved without intervention on my part.

Does she have any known food allergies? Has her diet always been the same flavour/protein? I just wonder about IBS but not sure it would necessarily be related to FD but maybe FD can activate it? Just rambling thoughts here ;).

Clay/grey color could be pancreatitis and or EPI. If there is a more horrendous odor than normal, I would have this checked out. My first kitty could clear the house in less than a second. Color was grey, vet said it was normal. I pushed for p'titis and sure enough that was it (no other symptoms). Olive had some stinky (not as bad) normal color but greasy looking, wet. She is chronic p'titis, constipation and sometimes won't eat.
