Since all my cats have been low carb/grain free all their little lives I have not made much of a change in diet. I looked a little at Janet and Binkys chart bt there are so many foods that I have been using that aren't on there. Everything I buy is grain free but maybe I need to look more into them than just "grain free".

There are two - the one most commonly references is on Dr. Lisa's site - here. It's a couple of years older now, so there are some new one's on Tanya's CRF page. The latter is sorted in order of amount of phosphorus, which is s little harder to find the fuds if you are in a store, so I mostly use the Catinfo one.

Janet and Binky's info is out of date. Dr. Lisa updated Janet and Binky's but I don't know how often she adds info to her page. I believe she encouraged people to send her information if the nutritional info is based on "as fed" values from the manufacturer.

When Vyktor was first dx there wasn't info for Australian foods, there weren't as many imports available and I generally couldn't get good info out of the manufacturers (with a few exceptions) so I based everything on the ingredients. You're right that just being grain free doesn't necessarily mean it's LC. I just avoided everything that had ingredients not suitable for a cat, eg cereals, thickeners, vegetables. Some foods that contain such ingredients may contain a small enough amount that they're still LC but by avoiding all of them I could be sure.
