I'm logging off for the night, but before I left I want to add one thing:
I have absolutely no flipping idea what i'm doing so wrong that his numbers wont go down and the ketones are coming back on what seems to be a weekly basis.
You aren't doing anything wrong. He may need more insulin, and he
definitely needs that tooth taken care of, but until that happens, you have a very very tricky job in front of you. Very,
very few cats become regulated in days/weeks in any case, and you have the extra challenge of OJ being ketone-prone, which doesn't give you a lot of leeway.
[just saw your reply]
He originally was on clavamox for the tooth for 2weeks.
Ugh yes, now I remember-- the clavamox was depressing his appetite, right? which, again, is the last thing you want! There are other antibiotics out there, but this really is a puzzle. Arrgggh....
I hope his ketones clear very soon, with no ill effects. Hang in there!
