After having an almost heated discussion with DH earlier today, it was decided upon that we bring Shadow in, and put her in the office. The only drawback... The door sticks, but could be opened up by anyone pushing up against it.

So, he took the hook off the barn's door, and found a round "hole" in his mess of stuff in the back room, and attached it to the door frame for when we're not here, we can secure the door so that nobody can get in.

Next, we both went outside, and DH tried to coax her to come out from under a pile of metal and stuff (Black Widows, wasps, you name it make that area their home). I went inside and got a broom, and used both the handle and the broom itself to gently push her towards DH. He suggested trying food, but because it was already getting too warm, I knew it wouldn't work, hence the use of the broom. We succeeded... After about 1/2 hour in the already warming up day. Once he was able to get a hold of her (thank goodness for her instability right now), he rushed her to the house, and put her immediately into the office. I had already preset up the LB, and a box with a sheet for her to lay on prior to all of this.

She looked around the room, looked at the window (another reason why he wanted her in here... The office window is low enough so that she could look out if she wanted to... She would have to jump onto the box which is right in front of it... And she can still jump as she came down from under the truck's carriage earlier this morning).

I got Scooter's old metal dish as it has a rubber ring, and filled it with water. DH took the box, and cut off 3 of the 4 flaps and put the box under my desk. It's more secluded for her, and he's also angled my footstool and the box together so that she doesn't get the idea of hiding where my computer is. I don't need her messing with the wires, etc., in there.

So, that's it for now. I'm about to see if she'll eat a bit of food. I tested her with a bit of sandwich meat... She looked like she was hungry, but will see with her food.

I'm a happy Momma Bean. Still awaiting the results, though.

Food Update: She ate a small amount, which is good. I'll feed her in about 5.5 hours and see how she does. That'll be about the same time as the others eat anyway.

Sending lots more healing vines to your sweet Shadow. I'm glad she'll be where you can keep your eye on her. I hope she'll regain her appetite soon.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

I'm glad you were able to get Shadow inside where you can know where she is. Sending prayers for good test results.

Thank you, ladies. I'll be spending time with her in the mornings, and then I'll leave her alone a bit while I do some commission stitching in the afternoon. At least she'll be where I can grab her to get her to the vet if/when the time comes. This situation DOES make it a whole lot easier on me, though. I think we should've done this on Thursday so that she could be away from anything that may do her harm, and had more time to get climatized.

She DID eat a small amount of wet food. I just hope that she's litter box trained.

Hi Angela,
I'm glad to hear that you were able to set up a cozy place for Shadow where you can keep an eye.
And I'm glad she ate a bit of food.
Sending tons of vines to Shadow.
