Scooter's resting comfortably, or as comfortably as a feline could get after having surgery on his anal gland. They found a tumor about 1/4", and she told me that it was removed easily. She didn't think it was cancer, which was my first worry, and thought. He's still on Clavamox just in case, and his appetite's coming back. I saw him urinate 2x since he's been home, but hasn't had a bowel movement just yet that I could tell. I'm feeding him kibble, but also a bit more wet food to hopefully soften the stool enough for it to pass through easily without him having to strain. The vet used the dissolving stitches, which will dissolve in 2 weeks. This good because I'd hate to have to try and remove them myself, or take him back to the vet yet again. She told me to keep him in the carrier, and keep him warm as he comes out of the anesthesia (spelling), however, Scooter wanted out as soon as he got home. I called the vet and told them, and they told me to let him out, but try to keep him warm. Good luck trying to keep a wandering cat warm! I did put him on my lap a few times last night, and he enjoyed that before wanting down again. By the time I went to bed last night, he had started jumping up on to furniture, especially on his favorite spot. I knew he'd be fine. Today, he's probably sore, but that's to be expected. I didn't think to get some Previcox for him before we left. I just wanted to get him and I home before a severe storm (that was brewing just shy of downtown Kaufman) hit us. Made it home just as the cold wind hit us, and got inside before the rains hit. Talk about timing.

Aww, poor scooter .. I'm sorry they found a tumor, but what a relief that it is not cancer and that scooter seems to be doing ok today .. Will keep you guys in my prayers that the rest of his recovery goes as smooth ..

This is pretty great news! Tumor - easily removed; vet doesn't think it's cancerous; Scooter is home; you made it home before the nasty storm! YAY! Now, let's get Scooter feeling better because no one likes a pain in the butt!!! (sorry, I had to!) Rest up, you two, and have a great day.

What a relief the vet doesn't think the tumor is cancerous. Are they testing it to be sure? Great timing on getting home before the storm. I hope Scooter continues to rest comfortably, and that you get some rest, too.

Hi Angela, that's a good and positive report on Scooter. He must be feeling good with wanting to stay active, too. Sending more healing and recovery vines to little Scooter.

Glad that it's not cancer, hope he recovers soon from the surgery usually first day doesn't count as they come back home not fully conscious so they start acting weird @-) good timing to reach home before storm.

praying for quick recovery .

Good news indeed! Glad Scooter is back to Scootin' around the house. Sending feel better soon vines - hope he recovers quickly. Nice work on getting home ahead of the storm -I'm sure Scooter appreciates a warm, safe house right now!

I'm so glad to hear the vet was able to remove the tumor and doesn't think it is cancerous. Sending prayers for quick healing for Scooter.
