Scooter's resting comfortably, or as comfortably as a feline could get after having surgery on his anal gland. They found a tumor about 1/4", and she told me that it was removed easily. She didn't think it was cancer, which was my first worry, and thought. He's still on Clavamox just in case, and his appetite's coming back. I saw him urinate 2x since he's been home, but hasn't had a bowel movement just yet that I could tell. I'm feeding him kibble, but also a bit more wet food to hopefully soften the stool enough for it to pass through easily without him having to strain. The vet used the dissolving stitches, which will dissolve in 2 weeks. This good because I'd hate to have to try and remove them myself, or take him back to the vet yet again. She told me to keep him in the carrier, and keep him warm as he comes out of the anesthesia (spelling), however, Scooter wanted out as soon as he got home. I called the vet and told them, and they told me to let him out, but try to keep him warm. Good luck trying to keep a wandering cat warm! I did put him on my lap a few times last night, and he enjoyed that before wanting down again. By the time I went to bed last night, he had started jumping up on to furniture, especially on his favorite spot. I knew he'd be fine. Today, he's probably sore, but that's to be expected. I didn't think to get some Previcox for him before we left. I just wanted to get him and I home before a severe storm (that was brewing just shy of downtown Kaufman) hit us. Made it home just as the cold wind hit us, and got inside before the rains hit. Talk about timing.
