OFF BOARD MEDICAL CRISIS!! PRAY FOR ANGEL- She's Gone

Folks I have no idea right at the moment how much if at all I'm going to be on the board in the next few days.

This morning we woke up to our civie Angel limp on the kitchen floor, we have rushed her to the Vet's and are waiting to hear back from them. Right now all we really know at this point is that she is severely dehydrated, her temp is way below normal at 90F and she has pure water for diarrhea. They have her on oxygen, fluids and on heating pads and she was starting to perk up when we left her.

Angel was fine last night when we fed at 10 pm so whatever has happened to her happened after we went to sleep. Where she was found is where she likes to jump to the top of the kitchen cupboards, so we don't know is she missed a jump and has internal injuries or if she found and ate something that she shouldn't have or exactly what has happened to her at this point.

She is still awake and alert, she did purr a little for me when I was petting her on the way to the clinic, but I am very afraid right now that I'm going to lose my Angel.

Oh honey, of course we will pray for your baby! and for you two as well, this has got to be awful for you.

We will carry on here, but please check in when you can and let us know how she is doing.

Im so sorry Mel, i hope the vet finds whats going on so Angel can be home and safe in no time.

Oh, Mel, I am so sorry about your sweet Angel. How frightening and worrying. Many prayers for good news and a hug for her bean. Please keep us posted. We are all pulling for her.

Oh, Mel! I got the drop of my life when I read this. The shock of finding Angel like that must have been awful. Praying really hard that Angel will be OK. cat_pet_icon (((Mel)))

Our beautiful Angel is now just as she was named.....She is soaring towards the Bridge on brand new wings.

We still have no idea why she is gone. Her bg was 16 on an Alphatrac, her temp was 90 and in the end they were having to breath for her to keep her with us long enough for us to get there to say good bye and free her from her failing body. There was no sign of infection, or inflammation, no tumors, the only thing her blood works showed was elevated liver and kidney values, but not so high as to cause us to lose her. The only thing anyone can come up with and even this is a guess without dissecting her to find out, is that she missed a jump, hit something on her way down and ruptured something internally although nothing was showing on x-ray.

So there is a huge cat-shaped Angel shaped hole in our hearts tonight and no reason anyone can find for why, so there is no monster to guard the rest of my babies from. Nothing I can fight back against to safe guard the rest of my family.

While it's never easy to say good bye to any of them, some of them take a bigger chunks of your heart than others, and Angel was just such a cat, not only did she take a chunk of my heart, she's taken a chunk of my soul.

Oh Mel this is just the saddest news and my heart goes out to you and Jon. A new angel must have been suddenly needed and so she was chosen. I'm so so sorry.

Aw damn, Mel, I am so sorry to read this.
Even though it is not the right time of year for it, I pray you see a beautiful butterfly very soon to help heal your heart and your soul.

Oh Mel, I am so sorry you lost your beautiful Angel. As with all your lovely kitties, I know she had a wonderful life filled with pets and scritches, good food and a warm place to sleep. What a lucky cat. It is so hard to lose them, especially when you don't know why. ((hugs))
 
Well this just sucks! Mel/Jon, I'm SO sorry it was Angel's time to cross. BIG HUGE LOOOOOOOOONG HUG...remember, she's right there, you just can't see or touch her. That's the part that hurts so badly....

Soar high sweet Angel landing softly right back in your family's broken hearts.

Oh, Mel, I am so very sorry. I know your heart is breaking. The suddenness was such a shock for you. I pray that your grief will be bearable and that you will be comforted by knowing that sweet Angel couldn't have had a better mom than you.

Oh no..Im so sorry to see this tonight Mel. I cant imagine how it feels to know there is nothing you could do, because I know you would have done everything possible. Fly free and land softly little angel..and give mommy a sign that you made it across..
 
Dear Mel there are no words at such a time. I send you my deepest condolences on the loss of your Angel as well as healing prayers too. It is so hard to lose such a loved one.
 
Mel, I know no words can ease the pain, but know that we're all mourning with you at this time, and sending hugs your way. Angel couldn't have had a better home and more love then you all provided I'm sure of that.

Oh my dear friend, I can hardly see to type through the tears. So very painful to read of your loss, and to try to imagine how you feel breaks my heart in two. I cannot even imagine it. It would be so much better if you knew what happened. Love to you both.
 
I'm so sorry, Mel. I read about Angel last night and I was too choked up for you to reply straight away. Losing a soul cat is one of the most painful experiences in the world, and to lose Angel so suddenly has to be much, much worse. My heart goes out to you. If I could, I'd wind back time for you both ... :cry:

every time i log on and see your words "she's gone" i just get hysterical. i feel so bad for you Mel. it just reminds me of the pain we all feel when we lose them. i wish there was some way to make it better but i know only time will help a little bit but the hole they leave is just terrible. if only we could make that pain go away. i am so so sorry Mel. please know i am thinking of you and sending hugs across the miles between us. i will make sure my beautiful babies who are at the bridge (Vinny, Corey,Willy ,Munckin) will meet up with Angel and show her all the good spots. well, since she's your cat, she'll probably know all that stuff already ... i suspect she'll be teaching my cats just like her mama teaches me. xoxoxoxox

I'm sorry ....I am just seeing this....but wanted to send you our deepest condolences. It's a tragedy when any of our babies cross but when one crosses unexpectedly....yes, it is truly tragic.

I know you will never know what happened but, just because the symptoms struck me as being so very similar, this happened to our GA Teddi Bear. The dx was pulmonary embolism. The critical care specialist at the ER where we took her (we know this vet very well and she's the best) told us T Bear's symptoms were classic pulmonary embolism and Angel's sound almost identical except Teddi did not have diarrhea.

I, too, was wondering if a blood clot was to blame. They strike out of the blue.
