Just a lighthearted post... I'm wondering how many of our sugar kitties have developed an obsession with water along with their diabetes?
Nipper has started splashing water from her water bowl all over the floor. She's never done that before this week, but I keep finding the kitchen floor wet and finally caught her at it. She puts a paw in the bowl and then flings the water onto the floor. Also she is apparently pushing the bowl around the room, as it is never where I left it.
Anyway I mentioned it to my vet and she said that a weird obsession with water often accompanies the excessive drinking in diabetic cats.
Then I thought back... about 6 months before Scout's diagnosis, she suddenly became obsessed with the shower. After anyone got out of the shower she would sit in or next to the tub, all twitchy, watching the water drip and meowing her head off. She didn't try to get in while the shower was on or get wet. I could never figure out what the deal was, I just put it down to her being a little dim.
Anyone got any good stories?
