    When placed in the subcutaneous tissue, the probe is connected to a recording device that is attached to the animal and records the interstitial fluid glucose concentration every 5 minutes (288 readings per 24 hours)

    288 reads per 24 hours? It is so impressive if that is true, it may take diabetes management to next level!

    Do you people know anything about that continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems?

    That is 12 per hour. The Freestyle Libre record 4 per hour automatically for 8 hours and can be manually scanned to get additional BGs.
    They may be talking about the Dexcom CGM which is a lot more expensive than the FreeStyle libre.

    There are quite a few threads about using the Freestyle Libre. I have use 3 so far and I conclude they work well.
