Nuzzles got a number!!!!

The meter is no longer sending me salutations ("Hi") at Nuzzle's bg test

I got a 481 and I never thought I would be doing the happy dance for a red number :lol: :lol: :lol:

I also got a ketone test last night which came up TRACE

She's still eating mostly kitten kibble. The good kibble (if there is such a thing) she is plucking on the floor in order to dig for the bad stuff. I let her roam the house today with the civvies and Snoball. She ignores the hissing and poses no threat to them so they are calm around her. She just wants to follow me from room to room and beg to be scratched - especially on her belly where there are lots of little knots of fur. I have tried all kinds of wet food and even tried to force a little in her mouth but she is not having it. She is up to a 3/4 cup of kibble a day. Tomorrow is the end of the Clavamox so her appetite should really improve.

May try to get a mid-cycle tonight like a +5. I don't want to increase her dosage another .25 until I can get some mid-cycle tests.

It must be such a relief after seeing so many HI readings.

Sounds like she is a picky eater. Well, at least she is eating and gaining some weight back.
 
Yippee on a real number!! Hope her appy improves when she finishes the AB, and maybe Nuzzle will develop a liking for a bit of wet food? Please Nuzzles?? Make your momma bean happy!!

Fantastic.. A though what's yesterday's PMPS reading? That's a new one to me..

Drat it on the kitten kibble. Have you tried putting it on top of wet food , especially when she is hungry? Give her that first and see what happens? Walk away and leave her to it and see if she will cave and eat it since there is nothing else? Although if she doesn't eat in an hour or two i would feed her the low carb kibble next... See who can win the battle of wills..

If I put wet food or tuna or anything soft, or the good kibble in her bowl she simply won't eat at all :sad:

Look out though when she gets healthy because she will have to be broken into submission for wet food. I probably won't be the one to do it though. While I will miss her when she leaves, I will be happy to get all the kibble out of my house.

haha_smiley I laughed out loud so hard at this that my brother asked me what was so funny (he didn't appreciate the joke as much as I did, though :roll: ). :lol:

Congratulations! Paws and fingers crossed that this is just the start to lower numbers! :mrgreen:
 
It was short-lived so up goes the dose. The good news is that she is eating well and mostly the Wellness dry although I am disappointed that the true carb count for the Wellness Core Original is 17% instead of 11% like we thought. She is done with the Clavamox and feeling better. My BF and I decided that she needs to be totally shaved. She has these tight little knots of fur all over her stomach. I will suggest that to her new foster mom.
 
I read it last night in a Health posting - I can't seem to find it now. Someone called the company.
 
Wendy - I know I read it!! Really, I did see it and in fact decided not to comment on the post. I have done searches in all the boards that I look at and cannot find the post. Weird. Maybe it was deleted. Am I losing my mind? I know I saw it and thought, golly-shucks since Nuzzles was eating more of it.
 
Interesting - Dusty has some of the Wellness Core original to eat, although he is mostly eating Fancy Feast Classics, and he's on day 8 of an OTJ trial! I'll have to see if the Evo Cat and Kitten dry is available (Jo insists on leaving down some dry food, so I have to work with what she is willing to do.)

It was on a Facebook post, that's why you can't find it! I'll try to find the specific post when I'm back at my computer and update this with the link to it.
 
Chris, you beat me to it. :-D Betsy Busch is the one who found out about the carb change in the Wellness.
