Numbers going up, why?

Each day Harolds numbers are going higher and higher for pre dose. Which sucks because we were getting to a really good place and I was hopeful for remission.
I missed a few doses and I don't know if that is what messed things up.
He also had a UTI (unconfirmed by urinalysis but was displaying symptoms) and was given a shot of Covenia (an antibiotic) on the 13th, that seemed to clear everything up but could that cause these higher numbers?
Or is it possible his insulin is starting to go bad? I have had it since May..

I think it's well worth it to get some new insulin.....that's 6 months old so may be part of the problem.

Also, in the future, if there's a UTI, get a Culture & Sensitivity done so you can find out for sure which antibiotic is most effective to kill the specific bacteria causing the UTI. Convenia isn't usually a good one for UTI's....it was developed for skin infections.

Next, although sometimes ProZinc is used with a sliding scale, we usually find it better to stick to consistent dosing. Same dose both AM and PM. I'm not sure why you all the sudden dropped to .25 when he was getting better numbers at 1.75'ish. Can you explain why the sudden big decrease?

It will help if you'll post daily (or at least every other day)...at least until you find something that works because what you're doing now sure is disappointing.

The dose was reduced based on advice given on this forum, I have included the link

I'm sorry...I would have disagreed. Yes, a reduction was earned, but I would have suggested dropping to 1.25 or maybe 1.0 but not dropping all the way back to .25 but we're here now so let's look forward.

In case the insulin was losing efficacy, let's give .5 for no more than 3 days with the new juice and see how it goes.

I will start posting as consistently as I can.

I understand it can be "one more thing to do" in a day where you're already too busy as it is, but it really can make a difference in the advice you get. People tend to look for the people they've dealt with before so it can mean "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" here sometimes. The more you post, the more people start to learn about you, your life, your cat, etc. and start to really care. The board has (in my opinion) grown to having too many newbies and not enough old timers around to help them all. When I was new here, there were a lot more experienced people still here helping others. In the last several years, I've noticed that only a few people tend to try to answer as many as they can and some end up getting left out. I admit to being one of them that used to post a lot more here to help the new people, but with my work on the Facebook group, I just don't always have the time.

We need to get more people here that are 1. experienced enough to give good advice and 2. willing to spend the time it takes and 3. willing to give advice on dosing (not everybody is because it means being responsible for somebody else's cat and not everyone is willing to take on that kind of responsibility).
