So, Jackie's #s WERE looking better......and then this morning, he escaped across the fence where the neighbor has dry food sitting out. When I get home this afternoon, his BG is higher than ever. Could that happen if he ate a small amount of dry food this morning?

dry food takes a while to clear the system... and many of them these days are really high carbs....
it's also why it's not a good choice for raising glucose levels.... it's not as fast as gravy.

he also has had some good drops... and when the glucose level drops fast, that can also cause a bounce.

You may have to ask your neighbor to not leave food out.... or not let Jackie out where he can get to it.

He usually can't get out. I have the entire fence protected with garden fence, (looks similar to the top of the fence in a prison yard). Unfortunately, Jasper is able to get in and out it all the time and he must have widened one of the openings. As to the neighbor,.....she's not real friendly. She leaves the food out for a beautiful little stray(so I guess she can't be ALL bad). Until the little beauty came along, Jackie didn't even know he could climb, I don't think. (Sigh)
