Now on top of everything else my 14 year old male tuxedo cat threw up all last night and will not eat. I can`t take much more. I stopped at the vet today asked to talk to the vet and OF course got the vet tech. They are not sure if he is depressed because I had Lilly put to sleep or if something else is wrong.
So if he does not start eating by 4:00 today I will be back at the damn vet I detest with another of of my cats. He has chronic constipation and high blood pressure. He is not constipated as he went yesterday. I have noticed lately he flooding the litterbox peeing about 3 times a day and drinking water a lot.
I know what you night be thinking and I checked his BG and it is normal. I can`t take another diabetic cat right now as I feel I made to many mistakes with Lilly and may have contibuted to her demise by not knowing how much insulin to give and therefore kicking her into pancreatitis.
My god I can not deal with the loss of another cat this soon.

Hang in there Terri,
When I put my Gumpy girl down, Civvie Slappy stopped eating 1 week later! I could not believe it! She went in for a senior panel and I found out that her thyroid was messed up... Giving meds helped her 100%. I guess perhaps she was slowing down on her eating and I just did not notice. I asked for help from this board, Patricia came out and helped me learn how to burrito her and dropper feed. I think she was depressed due to Gumpy and was already not feeling too well and it put her over the edge.
Could you try to find a different vet?? I hate going to a vet I dont like, which is , I have to say, MOST of them.
Let us know if we can do anything...
furry hugs your way

ohbell,

I just took him in and had full blood work done, had his blood pressure checked. BG is normal. Everything came back normal, they as of now now can find no reason for the vomiting and not eating.
I did get the one vet that works part time that I have used for ten years and not the new ones that bought the place. She said he could be mounring the loss of Lilly.
He has lost 2lbs, he was a 22lb cat. They gave him an appetite stimulant, Cerenia shot and a Pepcid shot.
However if he does not start eating she said I need to take him back in. It is rare for him not to want to eat. She said other things can cause upset in the GI system that does not show up on bloodwork like intestinal cancer or IBD. I hope he starts eating. I just went through all this with Lilly for the last few weeks. Yes I have found lately I am hating taking my cats to the vet at all. There are no good ones on my side of town, I live south and all the good ones are clear up north usually. Nothing worse that driving 20 or 30 miles with a sick kitty in horrible traffic.
