Oh Dale, I'm so sorry. You did everything you could to make Max more comfortable and he knew how much you loved him.
You did the kindest thing for him by not letting him suffer. I hope you find a little comfort in that even though I know you are so sad and in pain from missing him.

It wouldn't hurt so much if we didn't love so deeply. Max carries your love with him forever. This love never dies.
I'm holding you in my heart and wish for peace for you and your DH.

Awww, fly free sweet Max. He went with a heart full of love. Hope you can find some peace & comfort in the days to come - you did right by him every step of the way. :YMHUG:

I'm so sorry for your loss of sweet Maximilian. You've are such a wonderful bean and gave Max a special life he would have found few other places. Hugs to all of you for holding him, loving him, and setting him free to fly and run and play with all the other kitties we've let go. He'll be there at the special spot you've picked for him.

Dale, I'm so very sorry for your loss of dear Max. Words are never sufficient. I'm glad it went so well at the end. All of you are so much better off for that. He had a wonderful life and a wonderful death. Soon you'll be able to remember the good fun times without the hurt and tears but just the good memories instead.

Thank you very much for all your posts. I appreciate all the expressions of sympathy so very much. I am working through my grief slowly.
