Fritz was DX on Feb 11 2016 put on Lantus for little over a month I knew nothing about home testing so I have no idea what his numbers were except when a different vet switched him to Prozinc March 24th I found this forum and insisted on home testing.
I have appreciated all the help and support from the Prozinc forum. I'm wondering if Fritz has been on Prozinc long enough to see results?
I'm wondering if I should switch to Lantus or first have him tested for acromeagly first?
Could someone please look at his SS and see if he is suspect of insulin resistance or acromeagly?
I want to do what's best for Fritz.
He weighed over 28 pounds and is 25 pounds or less now so he does show signs of weight loss he has a shinny coat with bits of dandruff which has improved since starting insulin.

We usually say to give an insulin about 6 months before changing

We don't generally start talking about testing for acromegaly or IAA until they're above 6 units

Looks like Fritz is getting into some better blue numbers....I think I'd just hang on and keep going the way you are!

Fritz is showing relatively good response to Lantus. I would just keep increasing does and see what happens. Withe BG valuse yo are seeing and that yo are up to 4 1/4 units, I would start increasing by 1 /2 unit increments.
My MurrFee has acromegaly and near the end he was on 50 units twupc daily

Thanks Larry!!!! Just to clarify I think you meant Prozinc. Fritz is on Prozinc and I was considering on switching to Lantus. Thank you for sharing about MurrFee.... Your kitties are adorable.
I decided to see if the FF food with carbs might be playing a part in the higher numbers. Not sure if it's the change in dose or that yesterday I didn't give Fritz any carb food his numbers were better last night no blues or greens but stayed out of the pinks.
I wonder if he is carb or glutten sensitive??? and if that in deed effects the BG.
