My cat is due his flea and worm spot on treatment, but he isn't very well, although never really is. He is active, eating, drinking *today*, and has a bit of swelling around his jaw (improving, teeth related, unable to be treated due to sedation with his heart status). He always gets a bit unwell after flea treatment, should I just give it, or wait?

Does your cat have fleas or is this for prevention? If it is preventative and your cat is an indoor only cat, I agree about skipping it. If your cat has fleas, you do need to remove them because that could cause your cat to become anemic. You could try bathing your cat instead to get rid of the fleas. Otherwise, you may want to try a flea collar instead so you can remove if he starts feeling unwell. Also check with your vet to see if there are alternative treatments. You may want to ask about using a treatment for kittens since they are not as potent.
